AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE Signs to Napalm Records!‏

AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE Signs to Napalm Records!
New Album Tango Umbrella Due Later This Year!

Hot on the heels of announcing that they will be taking part in the upcoming North American COAL CHAMBER tour, Minneapolis, Minnesota’s AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE has inked a new deal with Austrian metal label Napalm Records.

The band commented about signing with Napalm Records:
AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE are extremely excited to announce our signing with Napalm Records for the 2015 release of our new album, Tango Umbrella. We'd like to thank all the fans, friends and family who contributed to make the recording process possible; we're very proud to be delivering a DIY record to you all!
Working with Napalm will allow us a much broader reach for promoting and distributing the record and let us focus on what we love and do best: making music and playing shows.
We look forward to 2015 being a very busy and productive year, and we thank you all again for your continued and fanatic support!”

Napalm A&R representative Sebastian Muench added:
“Having lived in Upstate New York for a couple years I was right there when epic albums like ‘The War of Art’ and ‘The Feeding’ were released and the incredible effect they had on the music world back then! Napalm is determined and pumped to release a new AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE album after almost a decade of hibernation... and I can tell you the new songs will blow your mind!”
AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE burst onto the national scene in 2001 with their Rick Rubin produced American Recordings debut The War of Art. Aggressive, strange, cathartic, dangerous and, perhaps most importantly, different, they blended the industrial grind of Ministry and Marilyn Manson with the tripped-out melodic experimentation of Faith No More. OZZFEST 2001 and a worldwide tour with Slipknot followed. During that time, The War of Art went on to sell in excess of 250,000 units, and it propelled the band to international acclaim with the singles "All Wrapped Up" and "Just So You Know."

After dissolving in 2008 the band reconvened four years later in 2012 and recently supported the late Wayne Static on a few select dates of his 15th Anniversary Wisconsin Death Trip Tour and returned to the UK to perform at the Download Festival along with a performance in London with Kill Devil Hill. AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE entered the studio in the summer of 2014 to begin recording with producer, Dave Fortman (Ugly Kid Joe, Evanescence, Eyehategod, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Godsmack) at Third Sky Studio, in Richmond, KY. What came of this is the band’s forthcoming album Tango Umbrella.

AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE will embark on an upcoming US tour supporting Combichrist, Filter and Coal Chamber in March and April of 2015.

AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE has literally survived it all, and is back to show that they are the stuff rock and roll is made from.

SATYRICON SIGNS WITH NAPALM RECORDS FOR RELEASE OF SPECTACULAR LIVE DVD!‏

Norwegian Black Metal legends SATYRICON have signed a worldwide deal with Austrian metal label Napalm Records for release of their upcoming DVD Live At The Opera!

Mastermind Satyr about the story behind Live At The Opera:
The whole thing started with us doing one song, “To The Mountains” a year and a half before the actual show. We performed at a closed event in the main hall of the opera with the Royal Norwegian Opera Chorus. It was very inspirational. I then said to the conductor that I would love to do a whole show like this. He loved the idea, I was serious about it, and he was serious about it.

We spent approximately one and a half year working with composer and arranger Kjetil Bjerkestrand on the choral arrangements. When I picked songs, I was not necessarily looking at only songs suitable for choral arrangements or typical in the Satyricon live set. For me, it had to be a combination. If you look at songs like “Die By My Hand”, it`s pretty obvious we`ll want to use a choir for that because it has a choir on the record too. On the other hand, there were other things I had to consider. For example, “K.I.N.G.” is probably the most famous Satyricon song ever – and not necessarily a song I can imagine with choral arrangements. But just because people hear it more or less the same way always, I thought it would be interesting to take that song and give it a totally different vibe for this one time. And it`s also interesting to see if we can work it around the structure of a song that is more or less straightforward.

For something that we planned for so long, put so much work into, and something this unique – of course it would be nice to film it and record it. But I made it very clear to the people around Satyricon that I`m not going to turn this into a recording session where you can buy tickets. When you hear or or watch this recording you should feel like you're there.

This is not “Satyricon – Best Of from the Opera”, this is a show! The perfect parts need to go in there, but also the parts that are not so perfect. That`s the nature of it, that`s the real deal. It's not a live album. It's a celebration of what Satyricon stands for as a band.”

Live At The Opera is set to be released in Europe on May 1st & on May 5th 2015 in North America via Napalm Records. This upcoming release will contain the full performance DVD and double CD of this exclusive and very special concert by the legendary Satyricon.

MAMMOTHFEST "BEST OF BRITISH" 30 DATE TOUR CONFIRMED!‏

Mammothfest has been hard at work putting together a 30 date national tour to seek out 20 of the best underground acts to be selected to complete the 80+ band line up at MAMMOTHFEST 2015 between Friday 2nd - Sunday 4th October 2015.

The MAMMOTHFEST team will bare witness to over 150 bands throughout the summer and provide much needed energy and investment into certain areas especially where there are venues that are currently at risk of closure.

Not only that, the franchising of the MAMMOTHFEST brand across the UK gives localised promoters greater reach to draw in larger customer numbers. Some have even set up their own one day festival style events like the "Among the Wolves Festival" in Wolverhampton!

Stephen Dickson, the Mammothfest director commented“Having 30 promoters all over the UK combine like this has been a Mammoth task but now the network is in place we are seeing a national buzz around these events. Promoters are hyped about the project and have seen a great uptake on their shows while bands all over the UK are keen to show they have got what it takes to play MAMMOTHFEST 2015. But I must add, this is not a battle of the bands, these are simply 30 show case A&R events that give our team an accurate measure when considering which bands to book for our main event.”

The 20 bands will not be selected until the 30 date tour has been completed. At which time MAMMOTHFEST will formally announce those bands selected to play the main event in October 2015.

Stephen Dickson adds: “If there are any bands keen to get involved and play one of these shows go to www.mammothmetalfestival.co.uk/community and contact your local promoter but hurry, most events are now full!"

TICKETS are now on sale at £60 for the weekend, with £15 venue day tickets and more also available here - http://mammothfest.bigcartel.com/

NEW MAMMOTHFEST MERCH deals are now on offer with limited sale stock including the “BAD ASS” range here - http://www.pkmerch.com/artists/mammothfest/

Bast - Spectres Album Review

Bast is a black metal/doom trio who like to experiment and their debut album, "Spectres" fully embraces this; the album has been re-released and repressed on vinyl marking a busy year ahead for the band..

Opening song, "In The Beginning" is an atmospheric suspenseful largely instrumental number, but eventually is complimented by distant resonant screams, leaving a very gloomy presence in it's wake...

"Denizens" contains powerful menacing screams which grab your attention, along with the crushing dark backdrop. This possesses clever tempo changes and progression with characteristic moody breakdowns to pound your ears further!

Title track, "Spectres" is faster paced than previous offerings, with ever demonic vocals, which are accompanied by instruments which take you on a journey of dark adventure and sense of story telling within the strong instrumental sections.

Interestingly titled, "Psychonauts" which is the longest song but remains intriguing and intelligible throughout, especially with the tension building start, which progresses wonderfully in this deep thought provoking instrumental track, where they decide to let the music speak for itself!

Closing song, "Outside The Circles Of Time" opens on a mellow note and holds a reflective mood, as well as keeping things diverse, showing off the bands composition skills more so with well thought out structures, and striking soaring screams which aid the dark tones perfectly.

Some death/doom metal can be hard to connect with or appreciate, but Bast have created a meaningful distant sombre sound, comprised of cleverly constructed atmospheric and experimental tones, making it easier to access than other acts within genre, especially with their creative story telling flair and exploration of sounds!

WALLS OF JERICHO SIGNS WITH NAPALM RECORDS!‏

Austrian Metal Powerhouse Napalm Records is pleased to announce the signing of Detroit Michigan’s WALLS OF JERICHO. The band is currently working on their new album, which is their first full length since 2008. After releasing a demo track “Restless” earlier this year, the band felt the itch again and decided to get back to recording. The resulting album be released by Napalm Records later this year.

Drummer Dustin Schoenhofer on signing with Napalm Records:
“All of us in WALLS OF JERICHO are proud and very excited to have signed with Napalm Records and are looking forward to finally finding the right partnership to release our new music with. We would like to thank both Napalm and all our Fans and Family for being so patient with us these past seven years since our last release cause its long overdue.”

Thomas Caser, Napalm Records VP:
“We are thrilled to work with one of the most exciting acts out of this genre and one of the best live bands out there! WALLS OF JERICHO have left their mark in the music industry and yet there is so much more to come for this band. Watch out for the band’s new album this year and make sure you catch them live at some point if you have not seen them!”

Seemingly overnight, stylized bands playing strains of melodic hardcore have sailed up the pop charts. But for WALLS OF JERICHO things have played out a bit differently. During the scene’s ascension, the band’s members have all but shunned the idea of a genre tag or an “image” and have instead focused their energies on making music that will survive strictly on its musical merits.

Most bands in the world can be lumped into one category or another, they are shuffled, redefined, and in that way they begin to lose the qualities that could make them important or meaningful. The greatest bands, the most influential or memorable, are the ones who don’t try to fill the role set for them, who don’t pursue anything other than the desire to make music, and the need to express that art to an audience. From the start this has been the mind-set of WALLS OF JERICHO.

Mammothfest announce Mammothfest "best of British" UK 30 date UK tour!

30 date MAMMOTHFEST UK tour

Mammothfest "Best of British" 2015, 30 date UK tour!
We have huge plans for 2015 including a 30 date Mammothfest UK wide warm up tour to get the British isles ready for our main event! Our Mammothfest team will travel the length and width of the country seeking out the best unsigned/underground bands.

20 of which will be selected to play Mammothfest 2015 based on professionalism, live performance and originality.

This is all part of a project to support venues, promoters, bands and the underground music industry and to improve YOUR futures.

This is now the only way in to Mammothfest 2015 as the rest of our line up is confirmed.

This is NOT a battle of the bands. I repeat, this is NOT a battle of the bands. Consider them A&R events.

We are simply deciding on the bands we want to play MF 2015 by going out and seeing all the bands first rather than making difficult decisions from the safety of our homes. The quality of the press packs and music we get is so high now that it is hard to decide so this way we ensure we secure high standard bands. We hope this will raise the bar and improve standards at all the shows.

If you are in a band and wish to be considered for Mammothfest please get in touch with your local promoter:

First come first served so when the slots are gone its too late so contact your promoter without delay!

Apologies if you are too late but there is only so much we can do. Either way, come down to to the shows, bring us your cds! support your local promoters, bands and scene and help to make our UK metal scene thrive. Who said metal is dead...

Here's to making the UK metal scene a little better than before, that's all we ask.

In light of this, our team will tour the UK in search of the best underground bands with a view to booking 20 bands to play the remaining slots at Mammothfest 2015.
