The Theodolites - Code Purple Review Feature

The Theodolites are a pretty unique concept band who formed in Derbyshire, UK in February 2016. The band consists of multi-instrumentalist Nicky, lyricist Bereek Tha Capricorn, singer/songwriter Marie Red and vocalist Shine. They are a virtual band, who are free of musical constraints and are able to provide a platform for music, graphics and artists for a broad range of genres and audiences. The three songs they have released, demonstrate this perfectly, with each song having the video and visuals matching the tone and feel of the music

in a wonderful and powerful way.

Artwork for single, Code Purple

Their latest and hardest hitting single is, Code Purple which acts as a tribute to hard rock heroes, AC/DC, influenced by their classic hit, Thunderstruck. The video depicts various cityscapes, which is beautifully constructed; the imagery that unfolds in the lively cities flows in harmony with melodic bouncy licks and riffs, which have an obvious AC/DC sound, which is of course a compliment. The Theodolites have hit the nail on the head and should be proud of their musical appreciation to what is one of the most highly regarded and well known rock acts.

As they create music to fit the feel of a video, they have an enormous amount of freedom that other musicians simply can't apply. This is a brilliant musical notion which will be fascinating to watch and listen too as they continue to expand musically and creatively through future virtual releases, making them a band to certainly keep an eye on!

Let me know what you think of the video/song in comments box!

INTERVIEW: Cellar Darling (Switzerland)

Cellar Darling is comprised of Anna Murphy, Ivo Henzi, and Merlin Sutter who recently formed following the spilt from previous well-known folk metal band, Eluveitie. The trio have been hard at work since, creating their anticipated debut album 'This Is The Sound' which was released June 30th via Nuclear Blast Records and have impressed fans and press alike with their fresh and unique sound which has been dubbed as "the new wave of folk rock“. This is an exciting and busy time for the band, so I caught up with them to find out about their origins, their new album, touring and what is in store for the band amongst other things..

Can you tell us about the formation of Cellar Darling following leaving your previous band Eluveitie and how the band came to be?
Merlin: What I remember most clearly is how quick it went. As you might know, the whole thing with Eluveitie came very unexpected for us - we were informed of a decision by the remain…

Interview with Ginger Wildheart & Scott Lee Andrews of Mutation

Mutation are an extreme metal act from the UK formed in 2013 by well-known vocalist/guitarist Ginger Wildheart, the man behind the rock group The Wildhearts and the frontman of Exit International, Scott Lee Andrews. The trio is completed by drummer known as Denzel (Dean Pearson) who has been involved in many projects with Ginger and plays in Young Legionnaire. I caught up with Ginger and Scott to discuss the beginnings of Mutation, the new album '‘Mutation III: Dark Black’, touring, the future, mental health and much more in this interesting and honest interview.

As a musician who has played in many bands, most notably The Wildhearts and formed many projects, how did you come to form Mutation and why when you did?

Ginger: I did it mainly because I wanted to make the music that was in my head, and it didn’t look like anyone else wanted to do it.

At the time I was playing and writing with Michael Monroe, and while I l…

REVIEW: A Killer's Confession - Unbroken

A Killer's Confession is led by former Mushroomhead vocalist Waylon Reavis. The album was recorded in Kentucky, and the anticipated debut comes thanks to David Ellefson of Megadeth’s EMP Label Group. For their debut, they enlisted some friend's and exciting guests appearances to add to the intrigue which raises the stakes high for their first offering...

Opening track 'Awakening' is a short and unhinged scene setter for what lies ahead. Stand out track and latest single 'Rebirth' is atmospheric, melodic and consuming with prominent bass and powerful drums.

The first single self-named title track, 'A Killer's Confession' features none other than Brian 'Head' Welch from Korn on guitar. It sounds strange and eerie through the use of electronic sounds and is a must hear. This is one menacing and crushing track which wouldn't sound out of place on an actual Korn album.

The second half of the album treats us to more guest collaborations with '…
