Sorrow Plagues Announce Second Album 'Homecoming'!

Self-Released Sophomore Album 'Homecoming' Out May 27th 2017

Sorrow Plagues is the brainchild of British musician, David Lovejoy and they have just announced their second album 'Homecoming' is going to be self-released on May 27th 2017. The new album sees them explore new territories beyond their black metal sound that they are known for, this time it features elements of post-rock and more contemporary influences, in what is set to be their most ambitious offering so far.

The project began in late August of 2014 with the release of 'It Will Never End', where Lovejoy composed, performed and produced the entirety of the music on the release. Lovejoy has since gone on to release a further two EPs, two singles and a full-length album.

Sorrow Plagues combines the aggression of Black Metal with the ethereal soundscapes of Shoegaze and Post-Rock-esque climaxes to deliver a cathartic experience. Listeners have described a wide spectrum of experiences delivered by the music with some stating that it calms the soul right down. The lyrics explore many different aspects of the human experience, including death, loneliness and regret. Then finding strength and resolution through these difficult situations.

Lovejoy has recently gathered some talented and like-minded musicians to fully showcase Sorrow Plagues in a live environment, with their first gig being announced to support Fen, Aklash and Conform To Serve at the Green Door Store in Brighton this November. A string of dates are currently being booked to support the release of 'Homecoming', and the debut single, 'Relinquish'.

The Five Hundred Release ‘The Rush’ Video, Reveal EP Details & Announce Tour Supporting Carnifex!

Nottingham metallers The Five Hundred unveil lyric video ‘The Rush’, taken from their upcoming EP, ‘The Veil'

The Five Hundred have been hard at work writing their latest EP, ‘The Veil’, the follow-up to their 2015 EP, ‘Winters’. ‘The Veil’ was produced by Justin Paul Hill (Sikth, Heart of a Coward, Betraying The Martyrs) and will be released on April 21st, 2017 via London Road Records. ‘The Veil’ is a collection of the band's most haunting, heavy and darkly melodic work so far.

As a preview of what to expect from ‘The Veil’, The Five Hundred have unveiled their first taste from the EP with new lyric video for ‘The Rush’.The haunting video shows gruesome, horror movie-like imagery, including a creepy dolls head and bloody knives. See the video below!

The Five Hundred is a five-piece that formed in late 2014, providing technical, melodic metal from the rough streets of Nottingham, UK. The quintet is known for unleashing barrages of down-tuned riffs and mind blowing hooks performed on eight-string guitars. The band deliver plenty of crushing technical grooves fronted by ferociously conquering roaring shouts. This is balanced out beautifully by captivating lead melodies and clean singing vocals.

'The Veil' tracklist

1. Aftermath
2. Ghost In The Flames
3. The Rush
4. The Veil
5. The Veil Pt II

Opening track, 'The Aftermath' follows on from the decay of the Nottingham quintet's previous release, a mournful introduction to what quickly becomes a punch-to-the-face riff frenzy. 'The Rush' is the first track to be unleashed from the EP.

Guitarist Mark Byrne describes the song: "It's a tale of euphoric misanthropy and hauntingly dark despair. The music effortlessly combines furious guitar work and painfully beautiful melody with spine-snapping breakdowns and depraved, sadistic lyrics."

With rumours of the release of a full debut album later on this year (label yet to be announced), 'The Veil' serves as tasty precursor to what promises to be The Five Hundred's ascent to becoming one of the UK's hottest new metal bands.

Synaptik Release New Video 'White Circle' Plus New Album 'Justify & Reason' Hits UK Stores!

Synaptik New "White Circles" Video Released & "Justify & Reason" in UK stores today!

British heavy metal five-piece, Synaptik from Norwich, UK unleashed their anticipated sophomore album, “Justify & Reason” on March 10th 2017 worldwide digitally through Defox records and physically in the US via Divebomb records but today (April 10th) it lands in various UK stores!

To promote the release of their new album "Justify & Reason" being available in stores across the UK today (April 10th) through Plastic Head Distribution, they have just dropped an official lyric video for their third single taken from the album for "White Circles".

Vocalist, John Knight had this to say about the lyrical meaning behind the new song:
“Lyrically the song describes the story of one person’s dependency on medication, antipsychotic drugs, the decision whether to stop taking them and return to a natural state risking confusion and illness or to continue on, the side effects, the withdrawals, the risks. All overseen by the ‘god like’ Psychiatrist. Singer John Knight worked for many years within the Mental Health system at management level and witnessed how the clients saw and described their experiences, “I spoke at length with a client about her feelings towards her medication and her Psychiatrist, she told me her Psychiatrist was ‘like a God’, someone who oversaw all the choices she made and controlled her life, it made an impression and I wrote this song that night, of course not every story is the same and medication plays a very important and useful part of people's life, it’s not an anti-medication song at all, but about the conflict a person has, the internal battle……telling themselves ’I’m well now, I don’t need these tablets’ without realising they feel this way because the medication is working, the side effects both being on and withdrawing can be severe”.
