Sorrow Plagues Release New Video 'Relinquish' & Reveal Album Launch Show Details

Sorrow Plagues Release New Video 'Relinquish' From Forthcoming Album 'Homecoming'

Sorrow Plagues have released a new music video for the song 'Relinquish' which is the first single from the upcoming album 'Homecoming'.

'Homecoming' is the second full-length album to be self-released by Sorrow Plagues, the Brainchild of British musician David Lovejoy on May 27th. The album ventures into new territory with added elements of post-rock, and even including some contemporary influences, whilst still maintaining the atmospheric Black Metal sounds that Sorrow Plagues is known for. This is David Lovejoy's most ambitious effort so far.

Lovejoy talks about the meaning of the song: "The song is about the importance of living in the present moment and realising that being stuck in the past and worrying about the future is the cause of a lot of our problems. I got the idea for writing lyrics on the topic whilst reading "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle."

The video was filmed by Luke Bateman.

Lovejoy has recently gathered some talented and like-minded musicians to fully showcase Sorrow Plagues in a live environment, with their first gig being announced to play Bar 42 in Worthing as a free entry album launch show on May 24th, a few days before the album is released. A Night In The Abyss and Them Broads have also been announced to play with more announcements to come. Full details can be found here

Lovejoy on the release show, "I'm very excited about releasing the album at Bar 42, it's a venue I've loved going to for years and playing shows there has given me plenty of experience in previous bands."

Later in the year, Sorrow Plagues will support Fen, Aklash and Conform To Serve at the Green Door Store in Brighton this November. A string of dates are currently being booked to support the release of 'Homecoming'.

'Homecoming' is due to be released on May 27th on Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify and many other digital outlets.

INTERVIEW: Cellar Darling (Switzerland)

INTERVIEW: Cellar Darling (Switzerland)

Cellar Darling is comprised of Anna Murphy, Ivo Henzi, and Merlin Sutter who recently formed following the spilt from previous well-known folk metal band, Eluveitie. The trio have been hard at work since, creating their anticipated debut album 'This Is The Sound' which was released June 30th via Nuclear Blast Records and have impressed fans and press alike with their fresh and unique sound which has been dubbed as "the new wave of folk rock“. This is an exciting and busy time for the band, so I caught up with them to find out about their origins, their new album, touring and what is in store for the band amongst other things..

Can you tell us about the formation of Cellar Darling following leaving your previous band Eluveitie and how the band came to be?
Merlin: What I remember most clearly is how quick it went. As you might know, the whole thing with Eluveitie came very unexpected for us - we were informed of a decision by the remain…

REVIEW: Bobaflex - Eloquent Demons

Hard Rockers Bobaflex from West Virginian are back to wreak havoc with their eighth album ‘Eloquent Demons’ which is the follow to 2015’s ‘Anything That Moves’, this sees not only their first release through Thermal Entertainment but their first actual label release in a while after the band decided to go independent. They are a very hardworking and tireless band, having extensively toured, and even setting records for this, they certainly don’t do anything by half measures.
The opening intro and title track sounds very appropriately evil, with a creepy intro speech to set the scene whilst we wait for the demons to be fully unleashed…
First proper track ‘I Am Nightmare’ immediately sees heavy dark guitars and melodic group singing, which give it a classic feel with a gritty edge and is possesses a hell of a powerful chorus, not to mention a killer solo – this will be hard to forget.
Keeping the momentum going is ‘Long Time Coming’ which is equally as hard-hitting, with groove ridden and…

Interview with Ginger Wildheart & Scott Lee Andrews of Mutation

Mutation are an extreme metal act from the UK formed in 2013 by well-known vocalist/guitarist Ginger Wildheart, the man behind the rock group The Wildhearts and the frontman of Exit International, Scott Lee Andrews. The trio is completed by drummer known as Denzel (Dean Pearson) who has been involved in many projects with Ginger and plays in Young Legionnaire. I caught up with Ginger and Scott to discuss the beginnings of Mutation, the new album '‘Mutation III: Dark Black’, touring, the future, mental health and much more in this interesting and honest interview.

As a musician who has played in many bands, most notably The Wildhearts and formed many projects, how did you come to form Mutation and why when you did?

Ginger: I did it mainly because I wanted to make the music that was in my head, and it didn’t look like anyone else wanted to do it.

At the time I was playing and writing with Michael Monroe, and while I l…
