Hotel Wrecking City Traders Release New Album 'Passage to Agartha'

In existence for over 10 years and based in Melbourne, Australia, HWCT have been releasing music and touring the world, carving out their own special blend of psychedelic space rock. Thundering walls of guitars and tonal ferocity meet acid-soaked hypno-drones and riff after crushing riff.

HWCT were the first ever Australian band to be invited to play Desertfest in London in 2014, playing alongside labelmates The Cosmic Dead, as well as numerous tours across Australia,Japan,New Zealand, the UK and Spain.

This, their 5th full-length record and first double album is comprised of 6 mammoth tracks further pushing the sonic boundaries of previous releases with the addition of added instrumentation. Recorded over 3 days in June and December of 2016 at Cellar Sessions Studios, Melbourne with Max Ducker.

As the sound of HWCT has evolved over the course of the past 4 albums, countless EP’s and split releases with the likes of UK’s Hey Colossus. The expansiveness of the sound is evident from the opening driving riffs of ‘Quasar’ throughout the winding passage of sounds all the way to the closing lysergic drones of ‘Oroshi’.

Themes of journey, distance and space are boldly exhibited throughout the record and are abundant in the 15- minute-long title track. Dense walls of bottom end guitar and bone-crushing monolithic drums hit like waves of molten volcanic lava washing over a baron scorched wasteland.

Expansive riffs, cosmic repeato-drone, driving motorik beats, gargantuan slow burning waves of fuzz and mountains of rich tone. This is the ‘Passage to Agartha’.

1 | Quasar (11:02)
2 | Kanged Cortex (11:53)
3 | Chasing the Tendrils (16:59)

Rock Duo SONS Release Video Single 'Marco' Raising Awareness Of Mental Health & Gun Control

Brighton punk rockers are back and hitting hard once again with their new video single 'Marco'. They have released a powerful video to accompany the song which was directed by Graham Cullis.

Check out the video for 'Marco' below:

The band states that: "The Message in this video is primarily to promote mental health illness awareness and how we need to cure the mind to help prevent tragedy that often occurs due to ignorance of others dismissing the people that need help."

Although ‘Marco’ was inspired by shootings in the USA such as the Stoneman Douglas High School incident and the YouTube attack in this video shows that gun control is something that needs to be addressed globally. As well as some cases in the US the video also shows footage of the Nairobi mall massacre in Kenya and the aftermath of the Dunblane Primary School in Scotland. SONS are fully behind any campaign aimed at tightening gun laws and making people more responsible with their firearms so th…

DESERT STORM Announce New Album 'Sentinels'

DESERT STORM ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM 'SENTINELS'
TO BE RELEASED MARCH 16TH ON APF RECORDS!
2018 marks the return of Oxford-based sludge-metal titans Desert Storm as they prepare to follow the release of 2014’s critically-acclaimed ‘Omniscient’ album with their new opus ‘Sentinels’, confirmed for release this coming March 16th via APF Records.

Recorded with engineer Jamie Dodd (Orange Goblin) at Flesh & Bone Studio's, Hackney and tracked by Steve 'Geezer' Watkins at Woodworm studios (which has also been used by legendary Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi), ‘Sentinels’ is a colossal sounding record, it’s ten tracks punching the listener with an oppressive towering monolithic sound that batters, but never dulls the senses.

“This album is a natural progression from our previous releases,” explains guitarist Ryan Cole. “It has the Desert Storm sound, but has moved in a much harder, darker and heavier direction.”

Today we get to hear the first rumblings from ‘Sentinels’ in …
