SUSPERIA Release Lyric Video For New Song 'I Entered'

Norwegian blackened thrash/heavy metallers SUSPERIA, comprising former members of Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon and Old Man's Child, release the first single from their recently announced new studio album, "The Lyricist". Titled "I Entered", the single is available in a form of a lyric video designed by Costin Chioreanu (At The Gates, Paradise Lost, Arch Enemy). Check out the video below:

"The Lyricist" will arrive nearly nine years to the day its predecessor ("Attitude", 2009) came out. Its release has been scheduled for the 16th of March, 2018, onAgonia Records. The album is available for pre-ordering HERE.

The origins of SUSPERIA can be traced back to 1998 when Tjodalv, then occupying the drum seat with Dimmu Borgir, and long-time friend Cyrus (ex-Satyricon, Old Man's Child) got together to share ideas and write songs. Clearly rooted and seasoned in the Norwegian black metal scene, SUSPERIA elevated its sound into more melodic areas of extreme metal, embracing and exploring a variety of musical avenues with ease.

On "The Lyricist", SUSPERIA has gone back to its black origin in many ways, one of which is a more grimmer expression. The characteristic melodic twist the band is known for is still present, and an additional layer of variety has been added thanks to new vocalist, Bernt 'Dagon' Fjellestad (whose stage debut with the band was made at last year's 70000 Tons Of Metal Festival). From SUSPERIA's pragmatic point of view, the new album is a "good old-fashioned kick in the head, both old and new fans should find enjoyable".

"The Lyricist" was recorded at three different studios in Norway between February 2015 and May 2016. The album was later mixed and mastered at Strand Studio(Chrome Division, The Wretched End, In Vain) by Marius Strand. Cover design and artwork was prepared by Vincent Fouquet. New band photos were shot by Espen Bakken.

EX-HIM Frontman Ville Valo Reveals New Band & Album

Ex-HIM Frontman Ville Valo has announced his return to music with his new band, Ville Valo & Agents, with their debut single, a cover of Rauli Badding Somerjoki's 'Orpolapsi Kiurun'(‘Orphan Child Of The Skylark’) to drop later this month on the 21st September, with an album to follow in 2019.

Ville has teamed up with Esa Pulliainen, guitarist with veteran Finnish band Agents, to record an album of songs inspired by late Finnish rock’n’roll singer Rauli Badding Somerjoki.

“This story begins three years ago,” says Pulliainen, whose band played with Badding in the 80s. “Upon finding three demo cassettes in my drawer which had been sent to me by Badding back in the day, I knew I had to contact Ville right from the get-go. I was aware he knows his Badding inside out. I'm really happy that we were able to finalize this project. Badding meant for these songs to be recorded and even if it took us 30 years to make that happen, I feel I've kept my promise."

Badding is…
