Rock/Metal Albums To Look Forward To In 2019

Slipknot amongst the many to release new albums this year!

As its the start of a new year, time to look ahead to some the upcoming metal and rock album releases that Mad About Rock is particularly looking forward to throughout the year...

Within Temptation new album 'Resist' is out 1st February 2019 and will mark the Dutch symphonic metallers seventh album. The band have already graced us with some massive and hard-hitting singles featuring brilliant guests with singer Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach) and Anders Fridén (In Flames), leaving us very eager to hear more in what sounds like some of their best and most dynamic songs yet.

Children Of Bodom
upcoming 'Hexed' album will be the melodic death metallers tenth album due for release March 8th via Nuclear Blast. New single 'Under Grass and Clover' is a good sign of what is to come, being extremely catchy and memorable.

Slipknot unleased the crushing new single 'All Out War' in 2018 and the upcoming sixth release is being worked on. The follow-up to 2014’s .5: The Gray Chapter, released in the aftermath of Paul Gray’s death and Joey Jordison’s departure. The band have announced a European tour this summer including headlining at Download Festival UK which means they must plan to treat us to some new material and that the album must be due before or around this,

Rammstein will unleash their seventh studio album expected in April. Only doing 1 UK sold out show in Milton Keynes Stadium - it's the year of Rammstein.

Dream Theater
new album 'Distance Over Time' will be the progressive metallers 14th album and this marks their first release with new label InsideOutMusic /Sony Music which is due for release on February 22nd 2019. New hefty single 'Untethered Angel' gives us a taste of what to come in what is expected to be some of their most diverse material to date.

Alter Bridge haven't revealed much about their next release but they stated that a new release and follow up to 2016's 'The Last Hero' was due this year new.

Soilwork will unleash their 11th album titled 'Verkligheten' on January 11th 2019 via Nuclear Blast. They recently released new single 'Stålfågel' taken from this so give it a listen to tide you over although the wait is not long at all now.

In Flames

Megadeth

Amon Amarth

Anthrax

Avenged Sevenfold

Deftones

Rock Duo SONS Release Video Single 'Marco' Raising Awareness Of Mental Health & Gun Control

Brighton punk rockers are back and hitting hard once again with their new video single 'Marco'. They have released a powerful video to accompany the song which was directed by Graham Cullis.

Check out the video for 'Marco' below:

The band states that: "The Message in this video is primarily to promote mental health illness awareness and how we need to cure the mind to help prevent tragedy that often occurs due to ignorance of others dismissing the people that need help."

Although ‘Marco’ was inspired by shootings in the USA such as the Stoneman Douglas High School incident and the YouTube attack in this video shows that gun control is something that needs to be addressed globally. As well as some cases in the US the video also shows footage of the Nairobi mall massacre in Kenya and the aftermath of the Dunblane Primary School in Scotland. SONS are fully behind any campaign aimed at tightening gun laws and making people more responsible with their firearms so th…

Mammothfest Add More Acts To Line-up Including INGESTED

Mammothfest UK has announced new additions to the 2018 line-up:

INGESTED, DEAD WITCHES, CYPERCORE, FORGOTTEN REMAINS and more join already announced headliners DECAPITATED, BLEED FROM WITHIN, UNFATHOMABLE RUINATION, CYTOTOXIN and more, making up another utterly devastating line up for the festival.

DECAPITATED headline MAMMOTHFEST 2018 and are now joined by an arsenal of stunning other live bands!

World Wide Slam Kings INGESTED are firm favourites in Brighton obliterating their crowds to bits every time while holding the throats of all sceptics, proving time and time again they lead the way in British extreme metal, getting stronger and more devastating with every offering.

Focused brutality at its best, their fourth chapter, THE LEVEL ABOVE HUMAN available via Unique Leader records sees the band tour the world extensively and so it was only right we got them back as main support to DECAPITATED on Saturday 6th October 2018.
