Killer Zombie Rock/Metal Songs!

So everyone loves a good Zombie film, program or game! With the recent return of the biggest Zombie TV show, the majorly successful The Walking Dead I thought this would be a good opportunity to look at some of the best zombie inspired/themed rock offerings to 'get your teeth into'! Not all songs are strictly about zombies in this post, and in the extended playlist below, but they are related/associated in some way and can easily be linked to them!

Get yourself in a zombie state of mind below!!

Cast of Season 6 The Walking Dead TV show

To get things in motion in a crazy fast fashion, it has to be what I think is one of the best Zombie inspired songs by one of the biggest metal bands from the US! This song featured on the movie soundtrack for the first Resident Evil film, which is inspired by the popular Capcom games. Be prepared to loose your shit!!

Slipknot - My Plague

It would be offensive to not feature this next song/artist as they embody the very essence of the living dead, and even go as far as to have 'Zombie' in their band name! They are also multi skilled, as well as writing music about the undead, the front-man is also a film director/producer of horror films...

Rob Zombie - Living Dead Girl

This song has to be mentioned - it's relevant, infectiously catchy and fun as hell! The song itself is inspired by a film of the same name and is taken from the
Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead album. Wednesday 13 is the stage name of Joseph Poole, who is largely know as the front-man of horror punk band, Murderdolls. You seriously need to listen to this!

Wednesday 13 - I Walked With A Zombie

Again drawing influence from the Resident Evil films, this time turning to the third instalment of the films, with Resident Evil Extinction soundtrack, where this song features, as well as playing during the credits. The alt rock band from Las Vegas recorded, "Contagious", which was based on the video game Resident Evil 4.

Searchlight - Contagious

My last zombie contribution comes from a Swedish hard rock band, with the appropriately titled, 'Dead Rising'! They formed back in 1996 and are signed with the popular record label, Spinefarm Records.

Sparzanza - Dead Rising

I haven't featured all the zombie themed songs here, but check out the rest in this deadly playlist I have created!

Enjoy!!

Feel free to get in touch and let me know of your favourite zombie songs! Also if you want me to do a specific feature on something else, drop me a comment or message!

REVIEW: Bobaflex - Eloquent Demons

Hard Rockers Bobaflex from West Virginian are back to wreak havoc with their eighth album ‘Eloquent Demons’ which is the follow to 2015’s ‘Anything That Moves’, this sees not only their first release through Thermal Entertainment but their first actual label release in a while after the band decided to go independent. They are a very hardworking and tireless band, having extensively toured, and even setting records for this, they certainly don’t do anything by half measures.
The opening intro and title track sounds very appropriately evil, with a creepy intro speech to set the scene whilst we wait for the demons to be fully unleashed…
First proper track ‘I Am Nightmare’ immediately sees heavy dark guitars and melodic group singing, which give it a classic feel with a gritty edge and is possesses a hell of a powerful chorus, not to mention a killer solo – this will be hard to forget.
Keeping the momentum going is ‘Long Time Coming’ which is equally as hard-hitting, with groove ridden and…

REVIEW: Vrona - Impermanence (Prog Metal)

Prog metallers, Vrona released their debut EP 'A Lapse In Time' last year which received positive press and even led to them being compared to the likes of heavyweights Karnivool, TesseracT and Tool, minus the vocals, as in 2016 they were an instrumental act. Now in 2017, they are back, not only with a new two-track release titled 'Impermanence' but they have also unveiled and added an extra dimension to their already massive sound with the introduction of a vocalist Jamie Ball.

The main title track 'Impermanence' is ambient and textured. The vocals are pleasant, captivating and varied which immediately gives them a different feel and layer, proving that adding vocalist Jamie was a wise move. It features soaring and powerful moments throughout. The fact that they now have vocals doesn't overpower the well crafted and intelligible instruments either but only acts as the perfect unison, with both complimenting each other wonderfully. They are all impressive mu…
