The UK-based industrial nu-metal band ANTI-CLONE, influenced by iconic acts such as Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, and 3TEETH, are back with a fresh and dangerously modern sound. Building on the success of their recent single ‘God Nothing’, which featured on Spotify editorial playlists such as All New Metal and The Pit, the band is ready to push their music even further with “Inhuman” - accompanied by a chilling AI-video directed by LarsKristo. “‘Inhuman’ is a poignant critique of the prevailing status quo, unveiling how the elite manipulate perceptions, casting those who appear or act differently as the 'monsters' while concealing their own predatory nature. The song illuminates the stark reality that those in power are indifferent to the plight of the people, ready to devour them without hesitation in their relentless pursuit of dominance and control” says vocalist Peter Moore. Since their inception, ANTI-CLONE has established themselves as a relentless force in the metal...

The Great Beast 666: Dan Brooklyn Releases Debut Album Dedicated to Aleister Crowley, Including Ozzy Osbourne Cover

This day is more than just the beginning of the end of an eventful year, it is also the anniversary of the death of the wickedest man in the world. While occult master Aleister Crowley has been a subject of countless songs, artworks and background stories of some of the most influential metal and rock releases of all time, Dutch Industrial metal artist Dan Brooklyn remains the one who truly rolls out the red (or rather black) carpet for Crowley. With fresh Gothic and Nu-Metal influences, ranging from scene giants such as Alice Cooper or Rob Zombie up towards Rammstein, Dan Brooklyn entwines the bloodcurdling musical saga surrounding one of the most notorious and infamous men to have ever walked the earth. Naturally, Dan Brooklyn himself does not shy away from breaking boundaries and has found his niche as one of Europe's most hopeful names in Shock Rock. Explicit images, disturbing lyrics, partly taken out of Crowley's own writings, and haunting instrumentals all build up to ...

Chaos Doctrine Release New Single & Visualiser For 'Lifting The Veil'

Photo by by Anna Botha Johannesburg-based Industrialised Metal Machine Chaos Doctrine has been relatively quiet since their October 2021 double release of a cover of Midnight Oil’s Beds are Burning and the “MMXXI Redux” of their first ever single, Cult. But that is about to change, as the band is dropping their new single and visualiser video for 'Lifting The Veil' Band guitarist, engineer and producer Alec Surridge explains: “While our last album is still very new, and we may still release an official single or two from there, we wanted to put something brand new out to give our fans a feel for what we have been up to for the last six months or so. We had great fun with our last two covers [Beds are Burning and, before that, Depeche Mode’s Enjoy the Silence], but they are not at all indicative of where we are going creatively – and this single will show you just what I mean with that!”. So, what does Alec mean with this? While the band’s last two covers were unique interpret...

SOCIETY 1 Reveals Official Music Video for "As I Die”

LA Based Industrial Metal band SOCIETY 1 has revealed the official music video for "As I Die." Written by front-man Matt Zane and late, legendary bassist DV Karloff, "As I Die" is off of the band's new album, Black Level Six. "The album is in memory of DV 'Dirt' Karloff. It is the last album we wrote and recorded together before his passing. The corresponding movie is entitled The Altered Noise. The album Black Level Six is the official movie soundtrack, which includes interviews with Dave Navarro, Raymond Herrera, Matt Zane and more. Black Level Six is an experimental album. The idea was to ask the question, "What would a Society 1 album sound like if we recorded it in 1994 in a similar way that Nirvana recorded In Utero?" We heard they recorded the album in 6 days with Steve Albini and, of course, this was before Pro Tools. So some rules were set up for us such as 'no vocal tune' and 'no copying and pasting vocals....

This specific type of hypnotic therapy is for helping people who have dealt with past traumatic experiences.” - Kristof Bathory “Scars Of the Broken has been one of the most emotionally difficult albums that I have ever created. All of the musical and lyrical content was straight from a place that I have been dealing with for a long time of my life. I poured out every darkest and deepest emotion into every song. Mental health is something that a lot of people struggle with and sometimes ...

REVIEW: Haema - Insurrection EP (Groove Metal, UK)

Experimental industrial groove metal act Haema from Northamptonshire UK formed in 2016 and now they are set to release their debut EP via Sliptrick Records on the 31st October 2017. First track ‘Eden’ is a scene setter and has a futuristic space feel with a sombre tone, before it all kicks off and is a great introduction to the band’s abrasive electronic groove sound, as it is hard hitting and leaves you wanting more… ‘Free Man’ aptly feels very free spirited in attitude but with a dark atmosphere and is heavier than the opener and a good one to let loose to. They manage to incorporate many influences and sounds into this and the end result is a very strong melodic unique track. The title track ‘Insurrection’ kicks off in an alarming and dysfunctional fashion and goes on to feature electronic synth groove laden melodies and a striking chorus. This is very rebellious as you would expect from the title and the lyrics featured, such as “they tell us which way to walk, this life is...

HAEMA Announce Debut EP 'Insurrection'

HAEMA Announce Debut EP 'Insurrection', To Be Released Via Sliptrick Records On October 31st Haema are an industrial-influenced experimental groove metal four-piece based in Northamptonshire, UK. Recently, the band has signed to metal label, Sliptrick Records, who will release the quartet's debut EP, 'Insurrection' on October 31st, which was recorded at Initiate Audio & Media by Neil Hudson (Krysthla/Gutworm). Formed in 2015, Haema encapsulates the essence of modern metal that likes to combine various styles of heavy music together. The four-piece hones in the heaviness and ferocity of groove metal, providing the crunchiest of hooks. This is balanced out by the infectiously catchy hooks reminiscent of the nu metal scene in the early 2000s. All the while topped off by a layer of electronic sounds and machine gun like precision found in industrial. Think if Fear Factory, American Head Charge and Machine Head were chucked into a blender, there’s a d...

REVIEW: A Killer's Confession - Unbroken

A Killer's Confession is led by former Mushroomhead vocalist Waylon Reavis. The album was recorded in Kentucky, and the anticipated debut comes thanks to David Ellefson of Megadeth’s EMP Label Group. For their debut, they enlisted some friend's and exciting guests appearances to add to the intrigue which raises the stakes high for their first offering... Opening track 'Awakening' is a short and unhinged scene setter for what lies ahead. Stand out track and latest single 'Rebirth' is atmospheric, melodic and consuming with prominent bass and powerful drums. The first single self-named title track, 'A Killer's Confession' features none other than Brian 'Head' Welch from Korn on guitar. It sounds strange and eerie through the use of electronic sounds and is a must hear. This is one menacing and crushing track which wouldn't sound out of place on an actual Korn album. The second half of the album treats us to more guest collaborations...

WEAK13 - THEY LIVE Debut Album Review!

WEAK13 have created their own unique anthemic grunge rock, fused with punk and industrial elements also. The trio from Kidderminster, UK formed back in 1999 by front-man, Nick J Townsend, eventually consisting of the new permanent three-man line-up in 2010. They worked on their debut full length for three years,  which is impressively mastered by, Henry Smithson (Foo Fighters, Stereophonics), and produced by John Stewart (Eight Great Fears). Their long-awaited album follows  the release of many raw grunge punk singles, with some controversial videos to accompany! The band  aren't afraid to be themselves and unleash exceptionally honest raw music. Although we are in a time where most will listen digitally to music, I would like to say, it is worth getting the physical CD for the cool wacky artwork, which has been well designed and thought out! The opening track, 'My Last Summer With You' gets the high energy angst going from the get-go, as well as an air of insan...

WEAK13 Feature - New Controversial Video 'Joke'

Controversial British independent band WEAK13 are gearing up later this year to release their very anticipated debut studio album which fans of the band have waited years for but now a new previously unannounced single has been released on iTunes with a music video to accompany it that could raise the bar for unsigned bands. The three piece grunge industrial band is led by Singer and guitarist Nick J.Townsend with Neel Parmar on Drums, and Wesley Smith on Bass Guitar. They band pride themselves on breaking rules, surrealism and honest raw music and for doing so have been described as 'badass' (Kerrang) and just to prove how different and weird they can be, Andrew W.K. said this about them, 'If aliens tried to make rock music, it might sound like this'! This statement applies not only to their sound but their music videos, as you can probably guess by now they are not ones to shy away in the face of adversity..quite rerfreshingly! The band have been known for their...

Wrapped In Plastic Unwrapped Interview

I put some questions to the sick and twisted minds of Birmingham based band, Wrapped In Plastic.. How you sum up the new EP, "LollyGagger"? Dope. How do you think it compares to your previous material? A loaded question. As with our previous CDs, this is produced by us, and with the experience, our skills have continued to improve. This is probably the more ‘conventional’ of our CDs in presentation terms, but the music is not compromised. It still is fuelled by hate, abuse and little boys. What are you most proud of on the EP, do you have any particular favourites, and if so why? The songs are all like our children and so it wouldn’t be fair to single any particular on out. Like children, you can tell that one might be more pleasant to others, whilst another might just be trouble. But they are all equally important. Explain the concept behind it. Well, explaining these things tends to dilute them – too prescriptive. The people who this is designed for will get...
