EXCLUSIVE FEATURE: Premier Jester 5 Songs That Influenced Them

There is no stopping electro-metalcore crew PREMIER JESTER who continue their rapid ascent and are primed to unleash their irresistibly charged debut album, 'Turn You On', due out Friday 24th April. The energetic five-piece have also just dropped their belting new track, ‘Pac’d Out’. Watch the video here  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqkzWxtMvXU  or see below: With the band on the rise, we exclusively asked the dynamic metalcorers for the songs that have greatly influenced their sound: Limp Bizkit – Rollin "I grew up on Limp Bizkit and it didn’t matter what mood you were in, they lifted you up and got you moving. They were aggressive without being too serious and were (for me) one of the first main cross-genre bands who really pushed musical boundaries, all whilst having a lot of fun! I feel this is a BIG influence on the style PJ adopts" – Jimmy Martin (Harsh vocals) Scooter - Posse "Scooter is one of my biggest influences. I’m a huge fan of techno a...

EXCLUSIVE FEATURE: Scratch One Grub 5 Songs That Influenced Them

SCRATCH ONE GRUB hail from the valleys of South Wales and are set to deliver their debut album 'One', arriving 27 February. The record blends progressive ambition, with alt-metal grit. We exclusively caught up with Lewis Griffiths (Drums/Vocals) and Sean Barry aka The Grub Man (Samples/Vocals) from the band, and asked them to talk about five songs that have greatly influenced their sound: Slipknot - Eyeless "The chaotic nature of this song captures everything that we love about metal. The musical technicality especially the drums and blood curdling vocals, sonically projects an unfathomable level of hatred and aggression. The random lyrics in the chorus are unorthodox yet very catchy, which ensures us that it's possible to go down a similar path creatively, as it has worked well for others." Children Of Bodom - Living Dead Beat "Alexi Laiho was a creative and technical genius, especially when it comes to the music theory he applied to his endless catalo...

SOEN Release Video For Slipknot Cover 'Snuff'

The engaging, enchanting, cutting, yet beautiful Swedish metal supergroup Soen release the mesmerizing video for their interpretation of Slipknot classic, “Snuff”. The track is taken from the forthcoming release ATLANTIS, out via Silver Lining Music on November 18th, 2022. Founding members Martin Lopez and Joel Ekelöf explain their selection of Slipknot’s deeply dark meditation on darkness rejecting love “Snuff”:“We wanted to do something extra special during the ATLANTIS concert. The obvious path would have been to pick an epic progressive song from the likes of Genesis, Pink Floyd etc. Instead, we went for the opposite with ‘Snuff’, a scaled down and brutally honest song that we all love in its powerful sincerity.” ATLANTIS is a special concert film featuring thirteen of the group’s most popular compositions reinterpreted with live orchestral accompaniment. ATLANTIS was created within the mystic and magical confines of Atlantis Grammofon Studio in Stockholm, Sweden, which ha...

Anti-Clone - The Root Of Man Debut Album Review

ANTI-CLONE GO DEEP AND DARK IN DEBUT ALBUM! To open we have the title track, which acts as the atmospheric build up prologue, before demonic drawn out vocals take over and alarming effects, showcasing their industrial sonic nu-metal madness in all its glory... Deracinated flows well following the opener, with intriguing clean vocals, until the technical franticness consumes once again, in this stomping release that will have an unconformable grip on you! Mechanical Heart chuggs away with dark down tempo memorable riffs and guitars. The subject matter, highlights the strong digital influence in the modern world we live in, where everything becomes cold and lifeless, reliant on machines. A very thought provoking number! Astaroth is simply mental, and highly reminiscent of Korn and Slipknot, which isn’t surprising as produced by Matt Hyde (Slipknot 'All Hope Is Gone' - Machine Head 'The Blackening') . With agitated fast guitars, pounding drums and crazed ...

Not all songs are strictly about zombies in this post, and in the extended playlist below, but they are related/associated in some way and can easily be linked to them!  Get yourself in a zombie state of mind below!! To get things in motion in a crazy fast fashion, it has to be what I think is one of the best Zombie inspired songs by one of the biggest metal bands from the US! This song featured on the movie soundtrack for the first Resident Evil film, which is inspired by the popular Capcom games. Be prepared to lose your shit!! Slipknot - My Plague It would be offensive to not feature this next song/artist as they embody the very essence of the living ...
