SINGLE REVIEW: Luna Marble - 'Sea Of Sorrow'

Formed in 2020, Manchester-based Luna Marble describes themselves as a contemporary classic rock band inspired by the blues and psychedelia of the 1970s. With supercharged stadium-ready tunes, the band marries its anthemic choruses with ethereal textures and enchanting melodies, taking this well-loved genre to its own territory. The band has been compared to acts like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Rival Sons, and Soundgarden. 'Sea of Sorrow' is Luna Marble’s second single ahead of their debut album. 'Sea Of Sorrow' is a dynamic classic rock offering, from its broody, hard-hitting verses to uplifting choruses with varied and delightful vocals that soar throughout. It's accompanied by charming swagger aided by slick guitar work and melodies. It's a very textured, deep track that conveys the struggle of being stuck, wanting to take matters into your own hands, and getting lost in that process, with the sound matching this ebb and flow of emotions. So d...

SINGLE REVIEW: Them Damn Kings - 'Shown With A Fist'

THEM DAMN KINGS started as a one-man hard rock machine created by New Jersey, USA native, guitarist/multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Jef Rhodes. Jef is a long-time professional Front Of House engineer and backline tech who has over two decades of international touring experience with such bands as Lacuna Coil, Opeth, Cradle of Filth, Highly Suspect, Watain, Mayhem, and others. By enlisting former Lacuna Coil drummer Ryan Blake Folden, the pair have recorded “Rise Up”, a monster of a debut album that sounds both new and exciting – while simultaneously reminding listeners of that golden age of the early ‘90s when hard rock, metal, and grunge ruled the late night rock clubs of the world. The album "Rise Up" was unleashed in September 2022. Now in 2024, Them Damn Kings are back with new music in the form of the single 'Shown With A Fist', and Jef and drummer Ryan Blake Folden are joined by Chris J Bridges (Rhythm Guitarist). 'Shown With A Fist' is a stomping and e...

Heavy rock quartet NIGHT THIEVES are poised to climb higher with their blistering new EP, Polarity, which is out now. The UK rockers have also just delivered another hard-hitting new single and lyric video, 'Walkaway'. 'Walkaway' is a striking and anthemic rock hit that demands many listens! The song is  inspired by Scott Phillips’s novel ‘The Ice Harvest’, with the twists and turns you’d expect from a gangster crime story. The song reflects choices made of where you head in life versus the journey you experience. Walkaway is the 3rd single from the band's EP "Polarity, which was released in January. Check out the song/lyric video below: Coming at you from the nation’s capital and initially formed as a trio comprising Jess Moyle (Vocals), Paul Andrew (Guitar), and Rick Hunter-Burns (Bass), NIGHT THIEVES soon acquired favourable comparisons to everyone from Biffy Clyro, Royal Blood, Architects, and Spiritbox. Unleashing a sound that is drenched with st...

EP REVIEW - Ashes Of Billy - 'Obscene'

Danish teenage trio Ashes Of Billy delivers a sound beyond their years with the new EP 'Obscene', which will be released on March 7th through Prime Collective. The feel-good opener, 'Down The Hill,' is immediately upbeat and nostalgic, and it's a great way to kick things off. 'Feel You Around' is an angsty and edgy offering with impressive vocals, slick guitarwork, and an awesome solo. The whole track oozes swagger. 'Something about your smile' is another catchy track and may be the most anthemic featured. The EP closes with the title track 'Obscene,' which is infectiously melodic and ends on an exhilarating note, leaving you eager to hear more from the talented trio. The 'Obscene' EP is a diverse, lively, and delightful rock grunge-infused listen. It offers nostalgic hints of 90s grunge while sounding fresh and powerful. Given how young the band is, they are certainly ones to watch, and it will be exciting to see what the future ho...
