Motörhead release single 'Be My Baby (Live at Lowlands Festival 2007)

Taken from the recently announced expanded 20th anniversary edition of Kiss Of Death, the Lowlands Festival performance of ‘Be My Baby’ is taken from the previously unreleased radio broadcast of Motörhead’s 2007 performance at the hallowed Dutch festival. Originally released in 2006, Kiss Of Death is a ferocious reminder of Motörhead’s uncompromising, no-frills spirit—and a timely nod to the legendary status they’ve earned as one of the greatest hard rock bands of all time. Driven by Lemmy’s unmistakable growl, backed by Phil Campbell’s blistering guitar work and Mikkey Dee’s razor-sharp precision drumming, Kiss Of Death—their 18th studio album—picks up exactly where 2004’s Inferno left off. It’s Motörhead doing what they do best: loud, fast, and relentless. Leaning into the heavier edge of their sound, the album also features guest appearances from Mike Inez (Alice in Chains) and C.C. DeVille (Poison), and delivers standout cuts like ‘Sucker’, ‘Trigger’, and the fan-favourite ...

Motörhead announce 'lost' album 'The Manticore Tapes'

In 1976 the seminal line-up of Motörhead was solidified a year after the band’s initial inception. Known as the ‘Three Amigos’ era of Motörhead, Lemmy (bass/vocals), Fast Eddie Clarke (guitar) and Phil ‘Philthy Animal’ Taylor (drums) joined forces and began their extraordinary journey to the top of the hard rock elite. In August 1976 the band set up at Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s legendary Manticore Studio in Fulham to rehearse and showcase the new lineup. While they were there they recorded together for the very first time and now, forty nine years later, this long lost tape has surfaced, been dusted off and restored in all its raw glory, to celebrate the seminal hard rock bands 50th anniversary It’s quite surreal, even unbelievable that a whole half century has elapsed since that vital time in 1976. Just as remarkable, especially for those who remember Lemmy hammering the fruit machines of London’s pubs or as the era’s most extraordinarily approachable rock star, has been...

The bust will be unveiled on the main stage at 6:15pm on Friday (after HATEBREED) in a special LEMMY FOREVER ceremony with festival management and the band’s Phil Campbell, before being placed in Lemmy’s dressing room, which adjoins the Rock & Metal Gallery (next to the signing tent). The gallery will close temporarily for the ceremony, and reopen shortly afterwards - then including Lemmy’s dressing room which will not be viewable prior to this. While you’re waiting on Friday though, there will be some additional MOTÖRHEAD...

Motörhead 'Another Perfect Day' 40th Anniversary Edition Announced

Always the most controversial album in Motörhead’s catalogue, Another Perfect Day was up against it from the start. After former Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson replaced Fast Eddie Clarke, the band’s sixth studio album presented what Lemmy called a more “musical” approach, the classic line-up’s full-tilt ferocity harnessed to more traditional guitar rock tropes enhanced by carefully crafted production. In 1983, it was initially startling to hear Lemmy and Phil’s patent hell-bound express draped in Robbo’s effects-laden multi-storey guitar overdubs instead of getting hot-wired by Eddie’s deceptively complex thermonuclear blues riffs and embellishments. Following the likewise lambasted Iron Fist and its reappraisal, Another Perfect Day stands before us, forty years on from the turbulent time that spawned it, as an inevitably divisive one-off chapter in Motörhead’s chaotic early history. Forty years on, Another Perfect Day holds its own as this most surreal detour in Motörhead’...

Motorhead announce unreleased concert Live at Montreux Jazz Festival 2007 to be released

Motörhead loved playing live and never ever judged their audiences. Everyone was encouraged, all were welcome. And that included people who like jazz! So when the Montreux Festival called requesting them, it made perfect sense in its own, unique way. ‘Tis worth noting, too, that the Festival has always been about stepping beyond the boundaries of that ‘J’ word, and embracing unique artists of all genres, styles and sensibilities, the only true consistent requirement being that they represent the best and most adventurous of their ilks. It is why, in the ‘artists played’ list, alongside a Dexter Gordon you’ll find a Deep Purple or a ZZ Top, and it’s why the Festival continues to attract a diverse roster of artists to its stage annually. The recordings of seminal performances such as these, were all given UNESCO heritage status in 2013, such is their value to the arts. Recorded during the band’s ‘Kiss Of Death’ tour at the legendary Auditorium Stravinski on 7th July during the 20...
