Forlorn Release Halloween Single 'Hold Me'

UK Pagan Metal outfit ‘Forlorn’ make their return with a defying new offering titled ‘Hold Me’ which is out now via Silent Cult. Forlorn blend folk horror and paganism to carve out their own brand of 'Midsommar Metal', while crafting a unique sound and visual identity. Produced by George Lever (Loathe, Sleep Token, Monuments) ‘Hold Me’ was written as a platonic love song, from a child to a parent, and addresses the subject of co-dependency, where a child bears witness to their parents' struggle with addiction. Accompanying the new single is a stunning music video that shows symbolism throughout that is symbiotic of family constellation. We see the honouring of ancestors passed through the building of the altar, a sense of community and tribe through the foraging scene and a feeling of strained family dynamics through the harvest feast scene. King Kraken releases Halloween inspired video 'Haddonfield '78' ahead of debut album 'MCLXXX"

Recorded at Long Wave Studios and produced, mixed and mastered by Romesh Dodangoda (Those Damn Crows, Inglorious, Motorhead), this is King Kraken’s lead single from their upcoming debut album, 'MCLXXX’.  Inspired by monstrous fictitious villains of the highest order, 'Haddonfield '78's chilling music video leaves no stone unturned as its storyline reveals the dark undertones of the lyrics. "Being a huge horror fan I knew I wanted to write about fictional serial killers (I've always veered towards movies as opposed to true crime)", reveals lyricist and King Kraken vocalist Mark Donoghue. "I was conscious not to mention the film or the character in the lyrics so that upon hearing it, the listener could decide for themselves who the song is about. The title came some weeks later and therefore some lyrics adapted, however, the only reference directly to the film would be Michael's knife in the line 'shining silver is the last thing you'll se

"While change is never easy, we accept Mick's decision to retire from the band due to the challenges with his health. We have watched Mick manage his Ankylosing Spondylitis for decades and he has always managed it with utmost courage and grace. To say "enough is enough" is the ultimate act of courage. Mick's sound helped define Mötley Crüe from the minute he plugged in his guitar at our very first rehearsal together. The rest, as they say, is history. We'll continue to honor his musical legacy. We will carry out Mick's wish and continue to tour the world as planned in 2023. No doubt will it take an absolutely outstanding musician to fill Mick's shoes so we are grateful that our good friend, John 5 has agreed to come on board and join us moving forward. We'll see all you Crüeheads out on the road!" Vince, Tommy & Nikki "I'm honored to carry on Mick's legacy and am looking forward to playing these songs". John 5 Mötley C

HOSTAGE showing brand new video single 'Afterall'

Being human means being subject to cycles. The ones we open and close, defining us throughout our lives, the cycles of nature that make us what we are substantially, and the cycles in the lives of others that we become a part of. A mere metaphorical figure? Yes, but one which our psyche depends on especially in desperate times of cycles that just won’t close, as it’s mostly then that we are seeking encouraging comfort in order to move on. Countless variations of what we know as the rise of the phoenix emerging from cultures all over the world gave witness: It’s been like this from the beginning of mankind. HOSTAGE, a bright shooting star amongst modern metalcore acts, have now given this fundamental mechanism of our souls a very special place: Afterall is their brand new video single and also the very song that doesn’t just end their upcoming album MEMENTO MORI, but really wraps it all up. It’s a melancholic yet uplifting song on a very thoughtful record, and one that’s supposed to u

INTERVIEW - THE SCUM: "All the lyrics of the songs are inspired by horror movies!"

Traditional Death Metal band The Scum formed in 2013 and are heavily influenced by horror films, so with Halloween nearly upon us, now is the perfect time to check out the band and their new album 'The Hunger', which was unleashed in May this year. The album is named after the 80s Horror film of the same name directed by Tony Scott, starring Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, and Susan Sarandon. The lyrics of their music are also inspired by horror films. We caught up with vocalist José Ospina to find out all about The Scum and their latest dark offering... Firstly, let’s go back to the beginning. What are your earliest memories of music and the moment you decided you wanted to be a musician? Maybe listening to the Beatles on Tv when I was really young. I had 4 or 5 years, I think. I wanted to be a musician since I was singing with the lyrics of the songs of early Slayer, Anthrax, Kreator and Possessed albums in the 80s. Can you tell us about how you came to form as a band? The

Colombian extreme metal act AIRE COMO PLOMO stream new video "Erase The One"

AIRE COMO PLOMO (translates to AIR LIKE GUNFIRE) also known as A.C.P is a Colombian extreme music group that combines Death grind, Thrash Metal and Hardcore Punk with elements of Avant-garde art and Latin-American horror and folklore. The name is commonly referred to as a metaphor for a forced and daily inhale of violence and savagery. Inspired by the work of León Ferrari and the meaningless story behind the Colombian ideological warfare and injustice system , AIRE COMO PLOMO defies all idolatry and belief with an aggressive sonic hammer called “Erase the One”. “Erase the One” is a call to rise up against fear, the establishment and idols fueled by the horrors of armed conflict. ERASE THE ONE Presented in Tarantinoesque anti-political propaganda aesthetics, the clip is a fast-paced montage of the band as street level and rebellious apes, performing aggressively against a collage of visuals inspired by the work of León Ferrari, the Colombian injustice system and a senseless history of

There are some lyrics within these past tracks that have always been very important to me. Very much a part of me and, though I love the music that originally gave them life
