WEAK13 Release New Single/Video 'On The BBC'

British band WEAK13 have released a provocative stance towards the acronym ‘BBC’ with their latest single On The BBC. WEAK13 frontman and guitarist revealed “This is a song for every musician, band or songwriter out there that feels deliberately ignored by modern mainstream media”. When asked “What does On the BBC stand for?” the WEAK13 singer and guitarist Nick J Townsend added “It could arguably be ‘Bureaucratic Boundary Controllers’, ‘Big Black Chicken’ or perhaps ‘Bigot Box Calculator’ but lyrics are subjective so it can mean anything that the listener prefers, we’re diverse writers. There is a broadcasting company in Britain that shares the same initials but that’s likely mere coincidence”. The song heavily strays away from the signature brand of metal punk rock normally produced by WEAK13 yet still bashes the listener over the head with, what could be described as, pure sarcastic commercialism. It’s potentially the most radio-friendly song ever recorded by the band; there’s...

Rock Trio WEAK13 Release New Viking Style Video For 'Loyal Coward' On January 13th

British independent band WEAK13 have released the 'Loyal Coward' music video set in the Viking Age today (January   13th  2018) featuring the  Svartland Living History Society.  who hail from  Wolverley, near Kidderminster . Their latest music video, taken from their album 'They Live', is definitely the most commercial sounding WEAK13 song to date but nothing is ever quite what it seems in regards to how the band functions. Normally a WEAK13 tune is coa ted  in  semiotics, subliminal messages or loud subtext but the first glance of 'Loyal Coward' appears surprisingl y  landmine free , extremely mainstream and very radio friendly. Whilst on the surface it appears as if this is them selling out it's more than likely that this a clever rouse rather than a U-Turn but are they really playing with people's minds? WEAK13 is one of the most influential British DIY bands since the millennium age. Always inspiring fresh upcoming bands with the...

WEAK13 - THEY LIVE Debut Album Review!

WEAK13 have created their own unique anthemic grunge rock, fused with punk and industrial elements also. The trio from Kidderminster, UK formed back in 1999 by front-man, Nick J Townsend, eventually consisting of the new permanent three-man line-up in 2010. They worked on their debut full length for three years,  which is impressively mastered by, Henry Smithson (Foo Fighters, Stereophonics), and produced by John Stewart (Eight Great Fears). Their long-awaited album follows  the release of many raw grunge punk singles, with some controversial videos to accompany! The band  aren't afraid to be themselves and unleash exceptionally honest raw music. Although we are in a time where most will listen digitally to music, I would like to say, it is worth getting the physical CD for the cool wacky artwork, which has been well designed and thought out! The opening track, 'My Last Summer With You' gets the high energy angst going from the get-go, as well as an air of insan...

WEAK13 Frontman Heading To LA To Promote Latest Controversial Video 'Joke'!

WEAK13 frontman Nick J Townsend is heading off to LA in September to promote the bands latest single, 'Joke' in which the video to accompany it sees the three-piece grunge rock outfit create a replica of the White House press room for the video, starring frontman Nick as president of the USA, which was filmed at Wolverhampton's Lighthouse Centre and Stourbridge recording studio Base Studios in Rufford Road by indie production company 57 Studio. The band are known for their strange thought provoking videos, which i n the past have featured frontman Nick Townsend dressed entirely in newspaper in 'Prouder Than U 2' and even a massive budget mini movie style video inspired by World War 1 trench raid with 'Wakedown' which won the award for ‘Best music video’ in the London Limelight Film & Arts awards (2010). And despite 'Wakedown' being their biggest budget video, their new video, 'Joke' may well be their most impressive and eye catching...

WEAK13 Feature - New Controversial Video 'Joke'

Controversial British independent band WEAK13 are gearing up later this year to release their very anticipated debut studio album which fans of the band have waited years for but now a new previously unannounced single has been released on iTunes with a music video to accompany it that could raise the bar for unsigned bands. The three piece grunge industrial band is led by Singer and guitarist Nick J.Townsend with Neel Parmar on Drums, and Wesley Smith on Bass Guitar. They band pride themselves on breaking rules, surrealism and honest raw music and for doing so have been described as 'badass' (Kerrang) and just to prove how different and weird they can be, Andrew W.K. said this about them, 'If aliens tried to make rock music, it might sound like this'! This statement applies not only to their sound but their music videos, as you can probably guess by now they are not ones to shy away in the face of adversity..quite rerfreshingly! The band have been known for their...
