WEESP Have Released New Live Song Taken From Upcoming New Album 'Black Sails'! Alternative electronic rockers  WEESP   from Minsk, Belarus who formed in 2008 have been delivering their own unique sound, combining elements of electronic, alternative and metal to create their edgy spacey rock. They have since received numerous publications worldwide and have played many gigs, including festivals in Belarus, Russia and Poland. Red Martian from Seattle, Washington as their name may suggest, are trying to be out of the ordinary, and their neue shoegazer genre certainly achieves this..if you haven't yet had the pleasure of hearing this band, you are in for a real surprise, in what is arguable their best material yet.. To open we have the title track, 'Slow Motion Samurai' which has an hopeful instrumental sound, before taking a downbeat approach with sombre vocals and bouncy airy riffs, making an interesting and intriguing contrast which works well, and more importantly showcases their unique style immediately.. 'Emeraldas' shakes things up more-so, by taking a big leap from the opener, with memorable and discombobulating guitars, this one is laced with a raw punk sound and enthralling unusual demanding vocals. Red Martian describe their sound as neue-shoegazer, as they are trying to bring back this genre from the late 80s/early 90s that was born, known as Post-Paisley Underground but they have done so with a modern twist, to help create their own 'alien' sound on their new concept EP.. Opening title track, "Ghost Into The Fog" is highly atmospheric and melodic, with well written lyrics and vocals that sound distant from front-man, Stephen..like that of objects clouded by 'fog'. This is an intelligible offering which makes for a great opener! Bast is a black metal/doom trio who like to experiment and their debut album, "Spectres" fully embraces this; the album has been re-released and repressed on vinyl marking a busy year ahead for the band.. Opening song, "In The Beginning" is an atmospheric suspenseful largely instrumental number, but eventually is complimented by distant resonant screams, leaving a very gloomy presence in it's wake... "Denizens" contains powerful menacing screams which grab your attention, along with the crushing dark backdrop.
