Traditional Death Metal band The Scum formed in 2013 and are heavily influenced by horror films, so with Halloween nearly upon us, now is the perfect time to check out the band and their new album 'The Hunger', which was unleashed in May this year. The album is named after the 80s Horror film of the same name directed by Tony Scott, starring Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, and Susan Sarandon. The lyrics of their music are also inspired by horror films. We caught up with vocalist José Ospina to find out all about The Scum and their latest dark offering... Firstly, let’s go back to the beginning. What are your earliest memories of music and the moment you decided you wanted to be a musician? Maybe listening to the Beatles on Tv when I was really young. I had 4 or 5 years, I think. I wanted to be a musician since I was singing with the lyrics of the songs of early Slayer, Anthrax, Kreator and Possessed albums in the 80s.
