  What better to see the back of 387 chilly days of January than BLOODSTOCK announcing the final Ronnie James Dio main stage and Sophie Lancaster stage bands joining the bill, as 2023’s hottest metal weekender edges ever closer.   After an epic and well documented 50-year career, that has seen them rise to the pinnacle of rock ‘n’ roll legends status, KISS have announced their FINAL ever UK shows. The iconic band will be starting their farewell tour with an outdoor show at Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park Stadium on Saturday 3rd June, followed by stops in Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Glasgow and London’s esteemed The O2, on Wednesday 5th July. To add further spectacle to the juggernaut-packed run, the support slots will be occupied by the UK’s rock scenes finest, the formidable 25-year strong ragga-punk-metallers Skindred. The Newport luminaries are set to bring their inimitable party spirit to fuel the crowd’s fervour in anticipation of the monumental headliners.   Legendary rock band The Who has announced a UK tour which will see the band performing with a full orchestra each night with shows from 6th-23rd July in Hull, Edinburgh, London, Derby, Badminton, Durham, St Helens and Brighton. Joining them will be UB40 featuring Ali Campbell across all regional shows except for The O2 London and Edinburgh Castle dates. Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey and band will be performing music from throughout the band’s nearly 60-year career, including sections devoted to classic albums Tommy & Quadrophenia as well as other beloved Who tracks and songs from their 2019 WHO album, their first studio release in 13 years. The 2023 UK shows include Edinburgh Castle, the band’s first show in the Scottish capital in over 40 years as well as shows in Derby, their first since 1966, The O2 London, Durham and Brighton Cricket grounds.   From longtime Danzig/Samhain associate, Steve Zing, comes a new project featuring heavy riffs, punishing rhythms, and the bleakest of lyrics – BLAK29! A childhood friend of members of The Misfits and Glenn Danzig, Zing is a renowned figure of the horror punk scene, known for his powerful drums for the legendary and highly influential rock band Samhain and as the current bassist for Danzig.
