Brandon Boyd Releases "A Better Universe" song and video

Brandon Boyd has been releasing singles from his forthcoming ECHOES AND COCOONS for months now and the latest is going to be the last prior to the release of the full album on 3/11. The album can be pre-ordered now HERE . The new single, “A Better Universe,” comes to us with a video from the same team who gave us the animated adventure that accompanied “ Dime In My Dryer .” The video will premiered on Boyd’s youtube channel  and can be seen below: About the track, Boyd explains “I suppose I have understood for much of my life that it’s through communication and cooperation that we can potentially arrive at a place that is clearer than where we came from. Being in a band for 30 years now has shown me, for better or for worse, so much about what it is to be in a “chosen” family dynamic. INCUBUS FRONTMAN BRANDON BOYD RELEASES NEW SINGLE “DIME IN MY DRYER”

The distinctive nature of Brandon Boyd’s forthcoming album, ECHOES AND COCOONS (pre-order at https://orcd.co/echoesandcocoons ), is as evident in the newest single “Dime In My Dryer” as in the other singles that have been released thus far - “Pocket Knife” and “Petrichor.” SPIN describes the newest track as ‘curiously textured’ and today you can hear it for yourself. “Dime In My Dryer” is a tale of discovery of what is important in life when forced to slow down. “It was in the relative silence of a world mostly shut down that I noticed how loud things had been in the before-times,” explains Brandon. “Not the obvious part of my life that is governed by big sounds and traveling, no, but that chatter or noise that emits from our shared experience as people. All of a sudden it would stop for brief intervals and in those gaps is where I began to see the parts of my life and my general experience that offered more signal and less noise.” What is the signal and what is the noise? H...

BRANDON BOYD releases "Petrichor"

As a multi-disciplinary artist, Brandon Boyd uses all his senses to create. On his latest single, “Petrichor,” he highlights a sense seldom used in music as a metaphor… “I come from a place in the world where the sun is almost always shining, and as wonderful as that is, it does carry with it a kind of bias towards happiness and a constant stress around well being,” Brandon explains. “The irony of course is that it’ll drive you crazy trying to be happy all of the time. There is wisdom in sadness and grief, the kind of things we glean from “walking through the valley” can’t be replicated by merely speaking or reading about them, we need to be sad sometimes and enter darkened spaces in order to be more fully realized people. When it rains in Southern California, it’s such a rare event that it almost feels like we’re being invited to embrace the dark, weep for what is lost, and then emerge new and washed clean of those old feelings that were stuck on us and starting to rot in the p...
