Penny Rich Announce Incendiary ‘On And On’ EP + ‘Fundamentals’ Video Out Now

Noise punk rock band Penny Rich, a three-piece from Cardiff, Wales, has announced their new EP, ‘On & On,’ is set to drop this September. Ahead of the EP and upcoming live dates, the group has released protest track ‘Fundamentals’. Watch ‘Fundamentals’ (official music video): https://youtu.be/djuL9LDGjE0 'Fundamentals' explores the frustration and embarrassing nature of finding recourse in mainstream solutions to physical and mental health issues, solutions that have previously been prescribed - unsolicited or otherwise - by others unaffected by these issues, i.e. who have not had to suffer or agonise to 'get there'. It denotes the irrational feeling of injustice in the face of smugness by others at how this journey has unfolded, whether intentional or otherwise. Since forming in 2018, Penny Rich has become synonymous with a raw, invigorating sound that blends the evocative vibes of early Sub-Pop with a contemporary twist. Known for their skin-prickling, abrasiv...

REVIEW: Swamp Thief - 'I' (EP)

Swamp Thief are a heavy rock duo from Swansea, South Wales, consisting of Simon Bevan (Vocal/Guitars/Bass) and Marc Lockwood on Drums. They have unleashed their debut EP titled 'I' made up of four tracks. First track ‘Mary’ gets things off to an explosive start with hard heavy-hitting drums and insane guitar tones which is melodic throughout. They make a lot of sound for a duo, and this first offering is well-blended and gets you hooked. ‘Whip Hand’ shows more gritty colossal guitars with heavy distortion with clean and powerful vocals, making for a great combination. They display their talent wonderfully, and the track ends on tremendous down beat sludginess. ‘Maelstrom Queen‘ takes a different more subtle progressive approach before unleashing its full force, with full-on crunchy groovy riffs in the longest offering. It features massive all surrounding vocals which all tracks do and is very well executed and produced to aid their huge sound. It is the most diverse and chall...

South West Hardcore Outfit CARRIER Reveal Debut Single From Forthcoming EP

Introducing South West hardcore outfit CARRIER who revealed their debut single release 'Grieve' taken from their forthcoming EP 'Wither'. The hard-hitting single premiered earlier this week and is the perfect offering to introduce the band to the UK. ‘Grieve’ is a song written about death, expressing the feelings the band went through when they sadly lost a friend. The track is a reflection of the anger they felt, it’s painful and they wanted to give an opportunity to be angry with death as a concept and to be angry with the world for taking people too soon. Listen to 'Grieve' via the link below: URL: https://goo.gl/wgdWCa For fans of Counterparts and August Burns Red, CARRIER have only been a fully functioning band since March 2017. All coming from previous musical backgrounds, the quartet were keen to do something different and they all seemed to have the same idea of what direction they wanted to go in. Their new EP ‘Wither’ combines hardcore and m...

Further From The Truth Review

Further From The Truth (Leeds) Are a female fronted rock act with high energy and attitude! They have it all..great riffs, powerful vocals, definately have a mainstream factor also, so will be liked by many, as you can't deny they can produce on hell of a catchy track! "Drifter" has great beats, slick guitars and an overall very professional sound..you will find it will keep 'drifting' into your head! "Demonise" has a 80s vibe, its memorable and has great stand out vocals. This song in particular shows they can deliver old school and modern sounds..versatility is always a good sign in a band! "Crimson Smile" is probably the most heavy in your face track. It is quite unusual with a great melody and lyrics. I think this has to be my favourite song on their EP...It should put a 'smile' on your face! This should be played alot..I can imagine this being played on all rock radio shows! All the tracks on the EP are different fro...
