The Burning Feathers Set To Release debut EP ‘A way in’

‘A way in’ is the debut EP by London’s hottest new rock band The Burning Feathers. Showing off the band’s strong and broad range of old school alt rock material, the EP will feature the band’s previously released singles, including the popular rockers ‘Start of an end’ and ‘Surface of the Moon’. The EP will also feature a new track ‘A way in’ - a song about hope and searching for something better. ‘A way in’ is the band’s most melodic song so far and is a departure from their previous heavier material, taking the listener on a journey - with vibes of Bon Iver, Pink Floyd and even Glassjaw! The band have already played a number of packed out shows around London and have a lot more songs under their belt, which they’ll be releasing throughout the upcoming year, as well as a handful of shows around the UK. But for now ‘A way in’ is the perfect entry point to understand what The Burning Feathers are all about. The band will be promoting the release with a special free acoustic show a...

VetoCode Release Debut Single 'Morphine'

VetoCode formed in 2023 out of a desperate hunger to make great music, they are a 3-piece grunge/rock band with their roots loosely plunged in punk tinged soil. The band comprises original members Jude Herbert, their very multi talented singer, songwriter and lead guitar interweaving hard hitting riffs and melodies into a cacophony of anthemic ear worms. Alex Ponisi holds it down on the bass and vocals, bringing a technical level of lower frequencies so tight and flavoursome that combined with the foundation of the band on drums, Jeremy Hamill. They have built a home fit to house their energetic creativity. Jeremy has the control, precision and timing to unleash a thunderous contagious passion that ignites and amplifies audiences. Alex and Jude having previously worked together joined forces with Jeremy who had the skill set to lock in tightly to form VetoCode. Band influences such as Foo Fighters, Green Day and Nirvana were to be among the band disciplines that inspired the lads...

EP REVIEW - Ashes Of Billy - 'Obscene'

Danish teenage trio Ashes Of Billy delivers a sound beyond their years with the new EP 'Obscene', which will be released on March 7th through Prime Collective. The feel-good opener, 'Down The Hill,' is immediately upbeat and nostalgic, and it's a great way to kick things off. 'Feel You Around' is an angsty and edgy offering with impressive vocals, slick guitarwork, and an awesome solo. The whole track oozes swagger. 'Something about your smile' is another catchy track and may be the most anthemic featured. The EP closes with the title track 'Obscene,' which is infectiously melodic and ends on an exhilarating note, leaving you eager to hear more from the talented trio. The 'Obscene' EP is a diverse, lively, and delightful rock grunge-infused listen. It offers nostalgic hints of 90s grunge while sounding fresh and powerful. Given how young the band is, they are certainly ones to watch, and it will be exciting to see what the future ho...

Whether it's anger, sadness, love, hate, or s...

WEAK13 Single ‘On The BBC’ Is Actually On The BBC

In a recent interview, when asked what it means getting airtime on BBC radio with a tune that roasts it, WEAK13 singer & guitarist Nick J Townsend replied "It’s feasible that it’s the most catchiest and radio-friendly tune they’ve ever received so them not playing it or dismissing further support for intelligent original music would arguably be more inappropriate". Nick added "Hey, it’s written with love, I’m an artist being artistic. Do you really think they’d prefer a song called 'I’m always played on the BBC'? This is punk 4D chess, it’s taylor-made for them and it’s pretty catchy so I’m actually giving them exactly what they want; let’s see if they’ll embrace the song even more. I can easily write a bigger tune". On The BBC is available now at: Apple Music | Spotify | & other major stores WEAK13 are: Nick J Townsend – Vocals/Guitars | Wesley Smith – Bass | Neel Parmar – Drums Band links: Official Website | Facebook | Youtube | Instagram |...

WEAK13 Release New Single/Video 'On The BBC'

British band WEAK13 have released a provocative stance towards the acronym ‘BBC’ with their latest single On The BBC. WEAK13 frontman and guitarist revealed “This is a song for every musician, band or songwriter out there that feels deliberately ignored by modern mainstream media”. When asked “What does On the BBC stand for?” the WEAK13 singer and guitarist Nick J Townsend added “It could arguably be ‘Bureaucratic Boundary Controllers’, ‘Big Black Chicken’ or perhaps ‘Bigot Box Calculator’ but lyrics are subjective so it can mean anything that the listener prefers, we’re diverse writers. There is a broadcasting company in Britain that shares the same initials but that’s likely mere coincidence”. The song heavily strays away from the signature brand of metal punk rock normally produced by WEAK13 yet still bashes the listener over the head with, what could be described as, pure sarcastic commercialism. It’s potentially the most radio-friendly song ever recorded by the band; there’s...

The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Kyle Woodland, bassist Aaron Jones and drummer Michael Small. I chatted with Michael to learn more about the band and their new album. Firstly, let’s go back to the beginning. What are your earliest memories of music and the moment you decided you wanted to be a musician? As a kid, I was never big into music. I enjoyed certain songs I would hear on the radio, but it wasn’t a big passion. When I entered my teenage years, some of the first music I really loved was Eminem. I had never heard anything...

Dark Below Lament Our Divisive World With New Track "Hate Being Human"

Missouri power trio Dark Below are continuing their Breakout year with new single ‘ Hate Being Human’ . The song was produced by Malcolm Springer (Matchbox 20, Collective Soul, Fear Factory) and Jason Schrick for JPS Productions at East Iris Studios in Nashville. Noted music manager Jeff Hanson (Creed, Alter Bridge, Paramore, Sevendust) has joined the team to help take the band to the next level. The song is a post-grunge anthem with a relentlessly heavy groove and thunderous backbeat, layered with Nirvana-esque vocals that lament the sturm and drang that is so pervasive in the world today. It is a cry of angst against the constant divisions in society as a whole, questioning when it will ever end. Dark Below’s Josh Campbell says “Hate Being Human” was written because of our general frustration with the human race. I don't literally ‘hate being human’, but sometimes you see the things we do to one another and the reasons why we do those things and it's just frustrating. Th...

With big riffs and soulful vocal melodies, this is a track that masterfully balances light and shade, anger and dejection, frustration, and acceptance. ‘What I Have’ delves into the emotions of growing up and learning that there is a thin veneer to society that, when peeled back, reveals how evil mankind can be. By combining their nurtured grunge sound with a fresh intensity they’re able to capture this rage and frustration Check out the thumping new music video right here: Speaking out about the new single singer, Joey Newell tries to remind us to re-evaluate our priorities in life. “Although it may seem great to grind hard, use people and sacrifice loads to earn the big money, remember it’s your friends, family and the memories that you make are what really matter, so try not to forget to be happy with what you have.” ‘What I Have’ will feature on th...

With the pandemic hitting harder than anybody could expect, they couldn’t offer us what we needed from them, which was, at this pont, financial support and more exposure. And the album was being delayed again and again, we couldn’t stand it anymore. It was heartbreaking but we decided to reclaim our freedom. Fanny learned how to promote the band along the way. She is now a...

Celeb Car Crash release new single "Down to the Core"

Celeb Car Crash have released "Down to the Core", a new single mixed by Riccardo "Paso" Pasini at Studio73 and Mastered at La Maestà Studio by Giovanni Versari (Muse, Afterhours ...) “Down to the Core”: There are people and feelings that we can feel even without seeing them, without touching them. They are invisible but present. We recognize the effects, in a frantic search we try to understand the dichotomy of our thinking: Rational, Irrational. Potential and Reality. Is this what we really want for ourselves? After all, we are probably only what we know. The piece freely draws inspiration from CHRISTINA ROSSETTI's Poem Who Has Seen the Wind? Who has seen the wind? Neither I nor you: But when the leaves hang trembling, The wind is passing through. Who has seen the wind? Neither you nor I: But when the trees bow down their heads, The wind is passing by. This is the fifth single and video released by the band which will be included in the album "The World...

Southampton trio Mystic Peach have  shared the video for their eerie new single Wanna Be My Daddy? Gathering early support from DIY, The Line of Best Fit and Gigwise, Wanna Be My Daddy? follows on from debut track Across The Pond and second single The Eye And The Twitch which saw critical acclaim roll in from the likes of Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1, Amy Lamé and Tom Robinson on BBC 6Music, John Kennedy on Radio X and So Young Magazine. Wanna Be My Daddy? is a spectral slice of grunge rock that isn’t afraid to tackle the tough questions and confronts vulnerability head on, with the lyrics acting as glorious juxtaposition against waves of psych and garage rock. Speaking about the video created by Josh Whettingsteel, singer Curtis Gale says: "This video idea turned up after having a phone call with my friend/manager, Jamie. We were coming up with ideas as we knew we needed a video but were limited due to lockdown. Josh Whettingsteel came to mind and as a huge fan of his ...

Wanna Be My Daddy? is a spectral slice of grunge rock that isn’t afraid to tackle the tough questions and confronts vulnerability head on, with the lyrics acting as glorious juxtaposition against waves of psych and garage rock. Singer Curtis Gale details the track further: “'Wanna Be My Daddy?' is a story of experience about how the comfort in your own sexuality can be threatening to certain people. Small town mentality, prying eyes and assumptions giving rise to the purest form of irony. The questions, the staring and unsubstantiated accusations can go unnoticed even in your busy life. But when people go out of their way ...
