EXES FOR EYES RELEASE NEW SINGLE “THE END OF SUMMER” FT. BJÖRN STRID OF SOILWORK

As people across the northern hemisphere brace for winter, Canada’s Exes For Eyes are releasing a new single, the aptly named “The End Of Summer”. This will be the first music released from the band since 2019, and they are eager to get back into the ears of fans. Featuring Björn Strid of Soilwork, the idea behind the single was to question our integrity as a species. “Do we as western humans have the ability to toughen up? Or are we basically just fucked on a biblical scale?” Exes For Eyes continue to explain the track: “It can be heavy, it can be subdued, it has tension and release, and a few good old-fashioned earworms. Having Björn onboard has only solidified that this is a song with something special. When we sent him the pre-production, he instantly knew this was a song that had substance. “Your best work” he called it. It has the ability to uplift you to euphoria, and the bottom will instantly drop out, leaving you wondering what exactly happened and looking for a repeat p...

Raleigh Groove Metal WoR Cover The Offspring’s “Come Out And Play”

WoR, groove metal hailing from Raleigh, USA unleashed their debut album “Prisoners” on August 7th of this year via Bungalo Records/Universal. On the full length, the band takes a grinding chainsaw with a pummeling battering ram to pulverize a heavy cover version of one of The Offspring‘s most beloved tracks “Come and Out Play”, which the band is sharing today with a streaming visualizer below. The band comments on covering the track: “We chose this iconic song for its energy, attitude, and lyrical message. We felt it spoke to the overall theme of our album, which discusses similar topics such as rebellion, anger, and rage. We were messing around at practice one day and were playing this song and felt that we could really inject some new life into it. We bumped up the tempo, tuned down, threw a breakdown in the middle, and incorporated Bobby Demoss’ trademark screaming vocals to achieve that goal.” Listen to “Come and Out Play” on YouTube (Visualizer). REVIEW: Haema - Insurrection EP (Groove Metal, UK)

Experimental industrial groove metal act Haema from Northamptonshire UK formed in 2016 and now they are set to release their debut EP via Sliptrick Records on the 31st October 2017. First track ‘Eden’ is a scene setter and has a futuristic space feel with a sombre tone, before it all kicks off and is a great introduction to the band’s abrasive electronic groove sound, as it is hard hitting and leaves you wanting more… ‘Free Man’ aptly feels very free spirited in attitude but with a dark atmosphere and is heavier than the opener and a good one to let loose to. They manage to incorporate many influences and sounds into this and the end result is a very strong melodic unique track. The title track ‘Insurrection’ kicks off in an alarming and dysfunctional fashion and goes on to feature electronic synth groove laden melodies and a striking chorus. This is very rebellious as you would expect from the title and the lyrics featured, such as “they tell us which way to walk, this life is...

HAEMA Announce Debut EP 'Insurrection'

HAEMA Announce Debut EP 'Insurrection', To Be Released Via Sliptrick Records On October 31st Haema are an industrial-influenced experimental groove metal four-piece based in Northamptonshire, UK. Recently, the band has signed to metal label, Sliptrick Records, who will release the quartet's debut EP, 'Insurrection' on October 31st, which was recorded at Initiate Audio & Media by Neil Hudson (Krysthla/Gutworm). Formed in 2015, Haema encapsulates the essence of modern metal that likes to combine various styles of heavy music together. The four-piece hones in the heaviness and ferocity of groove metal, providing the crunchiest of hooks. This is balanced out by the infectiously catchy hooks reminiscent of the nu metal scene in the early 2000s. All the while topped off by a layer of electronic sounds and machine gun like precision found in industrial. Think if Fear Factory, American Head Charge and Machine Head were chucked into a blender, there’s a d...

Threatpoint from Pennsylvania formed through the ashes of other bands in 2012 and pulled together to bring their array of influences within the genres of metal and rock to create their groove metal sound today. Since their formation they have unleashed two offerings, 'Careful What You Wish For' in 2014 and their debut self titled album in 2013. The band show they are still alive and kicking with their third full length album, 'R.I.P' which was unveiled to the world in October 2016. New single title track ‘R.I.P’ opens the album and gets straight to the point with an ominous effect intro, before the melodic thrash guitars and crashing drums take control. Chris James' vocals spill out in a ferocious and speedy manner with an impressive screeching guitar solo taking hold also, all adding up to make sure this opener makes a hell of an impact. ‘Deadend Machineland’ is full of melodic riffs paired with thumping groove sections and packs a hefty chanted anthemic choru...

Angerdome - Self Titled EP Review (Get Your Groove On!)

This Italian metal five piece formed in 2012 and released their debut self titled EP late last year, on 31st October 2015. See what they have to offer in their Angerdome ... Opening song, Escape This Reality maintains a dark groove with hard hitting riffs and drums, along with fierce impressive screams from vocalist, Cento, all executed in a very melodic unit; it will have you head-banging in no time! It also possesses nice tones, aided by the production and mastering which asserts itself throughout the EP... After a memorable introduction, the band fully greet us with, Welcome To Angerdome , which keeps things fast and vicious. Again we are treated to some seriously catchy bouncy melodies, with flawless belligerent vocals, and shows what the band do best where their in their 'zone'. Direct Result starts with a crashing drum intro with an elongated scream to kick it off, then goes on to feature crushing riffs, and a mental fast chorus, all in all, the 'result' is o...
