INTERVIEW - BUSH: "To be as wildly personal and wildly deep-diving led me to a place that is more universal than I intended or anticipated and that just made it feel even more authentic because the simple idea of, we are all the same on the inside"

British rock band Bush formed in 1992 and released their debut album 'Sixteen Stone' in 1994. Now, in 2025, they have just recently released their tenth album, 'I Beat Loneliness', via earMusic. We spoke to the frontman of the band, Gavin Rossdale, to find out all about the new electrifying release, which is one of their most personal and honest records to date. The day I spoke to Gavin was Wednesday Evening UK time on the 30th July, the day of Ozzy Osbourne's funeral procession in Birmingham and Gavin briefly touched on the power of Ozzy in the beginning of our conversation as we exchanged pleasantries, commenting "There is a lot about Ozzy in the air and debt that we owe him."  I also caught Gavin on a day off from the Shinedown American tour, in which Bush is supporting. Gavin was excited and eager to share his tour experience. "It has been really amazing to play this new record live and integrate it with the other songs. It's a bit more expe...

TOOTH GORE was born at the end of 2021, however it wasn’t until 2024 that Kobi really began to attract attention and really make his mark. With a deft ability to fuse meaty fuzzy guitars and by drawing from earnest raw punk vigour of contemporary acts such as FIDLAR, The Frights, PUP and Jeff Rosenstock, Kobi Joe also mixes alluring reverb soaked doo-wop vibes (which are enthused by the music of the 1950s) and has constructed a sound that is distinctive and undeniably appealing. Kobi’s lyrics display his fears a...

Under The Sun Scream The opener to the album is like a smack in the face with a wet towel when you've just dropped off to sleep. It's gonna wake you up and get the adrenaline going. It seems so long ago the riff came to me and started the ball rolling to the usual "put through the ringer" treatment of the Kraken. The end result is a megamix of riffs where we all had a part to play and it's an absolute bangar! This is only one of t...

I have to ask the obvious question before going into the album. How did you come up with your band name PLEIADES? Josh: So it was actually our old drummer who came up with it because we did initially set out to be a 3-piece with no vocalist as at the beginning we wanted to be a post-rock band so we were toying with that idea for the better part of six months and jamming and trying to make the whole thi...

Interview with Michael Small by Carina Lawrence  Grunge hard rock band Jaded Truth formed in 2019 in St John's, Newfoundland. In 2020 they released their debut album 'Rx', a concept album about addiction and insomnia, and soon after, they dropped their sophomore album 'Tsukimono' in 2021. In 2022, they unleashed their third album, 'Take A Seat', highlighting further their 90s-inspired sound with punk and metal elements. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Kyle Woodland, bassist Aaron Jones and drummer Michael Small. I chatted with Michael to learn more about the band and their new album. Firstly, let’s go back to the beginning. What are your earliest memories of music and the moment you decided you wanted to be a musician? As a kid, I was never big into music. I enjoyed certain songs I would hear on the radio, but it wasn’t a big passion. When I entered my teenage years, some of the first music I really loved was Eminem. I had never heard anything...

INTERVIEW: Aire Como Plomo: "We’ve grown up as artists without betraying our inner kids. We haven’t lost the recklessness of our concept and methods"

AIRE COMO PLOMO (translates to AIR LIKE GUNFIRE), also known as A.C.P are a Colombian extreme band that combines Death grind, Thrash Metal and Hardcore Punk with elements of Avant-garde art and Latin-American horror and folklore. An intriguing concoction! The name is commonly referred to as a metaphor for a forced and daily inhale of violence and savagery, and they are inspired by the work of León Ferrari and the meaningless story behind the Colombian ideological warfare and injustice system. They have recently unleashed their new single titled 'Erase The One', which is a call to rise up against fear, the establishment and idols fueled by the horrors of armed conflict. Mad About Rock caught up with guitarist Miguel Jiménez to learn more about the band, their new single and what they are currently working on. Firstly, let’s go back to the beginning. What are your earliest memories of music and the moment you decided you wanted to be a musician? Stretching as far as my mind can...
