Low Flying Hawks To Release New Album In August

LOW FLYING HAWKS to release new album in August Low Flying Hawks will release their highly anticipated new album Genkaku on Magnetic Eye Records on August 25, 2017. Expect more Dark, Hazy Heaviness featuring Members of The Melvins, Mr. Bungle and Big Business. Churning with sonic devastation and rolling waves of hopelessness, Genkaku is the second album from LOW FLYING HAWKS, the self-described “ambient metal” band featuring dummer Dale Crover (The Melvins) and bassist Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle) alongside songwriters and multi-instrumentalists EHA and AAL. Genkaku is the follow-up to LFH’s 2016 debut, Kōfuku, a record lauded as “metal for a dying world” and “vividly of its time” by Consequence of Sound. Doomier and boasting bigger hooks, Genkaku is more riff-filled than the post-metal shoegaze of its predecessor, overflowing with tectonic guitar dirges and darkly intense music-as-mood. Produced, recorded and mixed by Toshi Kasai (Melvins, Big Business) at Sound of Sirens, and ma...

Devilfire To Release Debut Album 'Dark Manoeuvres' 6th October

Devilfire Annouce Debut Album Release  It’s said that some of the greatest bands of our time have been forged on the road, Devilfire is no exception… Following 10 days of gigging to 2000 capacity sold out venues as special guests to former Nightwish singer Tarja Turunen, DEVILFIRE have forged a fiery path into the European Rock N' Roll road. Returning to the UK to a sold out festival crowd at Hard Rock Hell AOR 2017 was the icing on the cake, and the Birmingham based melodic hard rock outfit are ready to conquer the world with their debut album 'DARK MANOEUVRES' this October. Mixed by acclaimed producer Romesh Dodangoda (Motorhead, Bring Me The Horizon, Bullet For My Valentine) and co-produced by Romesh and Devilfire frontman Alex Cooper (Shy, Quireboys Spike, Ginger) at Long Wave Studios in Cardiff, 'Dark Manoeuvres' is a mammoth 13-track album. Calling on varied influences with a darker melodic sound, this hook laden, riff filled collection of music has been...

Maxdmyz Interview - 'Tough Lift Music, Eminem, Creative Omnivores' & More!

Maxdmyz are a London metal quintet consisting of Twister (vocals), Roger (guitars), Jay (drums), A’Zedd (bass guitar) and Vortex (keyboards). They are known for their live performances and unique blend of metal. They are interesting chaps, which you will discover when you read on. Find out about them working with Eminem, their well received EP, 'Cosmic Hearse' and about their new creation they are working on, amongst other things, just don't expect to find out what their cool and unusual name means!... For those not familiar, can you tell us a bit about your band name? I’d love to – but the guy I started the band with came up with it – just never told me where it came from or what it meant – I’m still struggling to say it right to be honest – any ideas? You have a unique metal sound, how would you best describe your music? Unique? Praise indeed – thanks! An erstwhile manager once described it as tough lift music – that’ll probably do. You have buil...

Mannequin - Harpy Doll Review - Extreme Metal With A Twist!

Mannequin are a recently formed extreme metal duo from the North-East of England, consisting of Benjó James (vocals) and Jack Wilson (guitars) who manage to create a hell of a loud high impact sound!.. 'Harpy Doll' taken from their first EP 'From January to Funeral March' is quite something, largely sounding bleak, dark and brutal but with glimpses of hope, shown through the melodic flurries, which strike hard, especially as it's unexpected, but works wonderfully in this brutal relentless track! You are bombarded and astounded throughout this epic seven minute masterpiece, with its fast thrash instruments, gothic creepy undertones, and cunning devious lyrics, which are delivered and match the sound of the song superbly with brilliant extreme vocals from  Benjó .  Benjó's  vocals are made all the more impressive by the fact that he remains audible and understandable still even when screaming, which can be a struggle sometimes within this genre. By the...

Majentta - Burst

Looking for upcoming talent which is different and inspiring..Majentta a new female artist from LA is one to look out for! She has just released a new video and single called, 'Burst' which is powerful, atmospheric and haunting, which displays her beautiful unique far reaching vocals which fit the video perfectly. The video itself is mysterious, dark and compelling and more than just your average music video, being more like a mini film, which is rather impressive especially considering by an independent artist; So the video and song combined make quite an first impression! I for one am intrigued to hear more of her sombre alternative rock/pop sound and see how the music will be portrayed visually!  Be sure to check out the brilliant video in question for 'Burst ': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8cPGL_Vbms https://majentta.bandcamp.com https://www.facebook.com/majentta
