The new anthemic single, 'Wasted', is out on Friday 20th February, accompanied by a striking new video. We caught up with Owen and exclusively asked him to name the top five songs that have influenced his sound: The Rumjacks - Bullhead "It’s hard to pick from the tons of Celtic Punk songs that I love and have clearly influenced me, but this one is an absolute favourite. The drop out breakdown in the middle is something I use a lot, and switching from accordion to banjo, as well as writing about the Irish War of Independence as I do in “Rebellion” from my first album." Bad Religion – American Jesus "One of the things that Bad Religion do SO well is vocal harmonies and crossover vocal lines with different melodies and lyrics being sung at the same time between th...

Rancid cover Motörhead's ‘Sex & Death’

Heavy metal and punk rock! It's fair to say that these two noisy tribes now have a great deal in common—often melding together, almost indistinguishable, to produce bastard offspring of their own. But it wasn’t always this way. Indeed, there was a time when fists were more likely to be thrown than bumped, and beers more likely to be hurled than shared—except when it came to Motörhead. That was the one band we could all agree on. The one band that was truly ours! Across the fourteen tracks on this album, cunningly titled Killed By Deaf, you’ll hear a loving tribute to Motörhead from some of punk rocks’ biggest and most respected bands. The latest of which to be revealed is ‘Sex & Death’ covered by punk legends Rancid out now. Lars Frederiksen (guitar/vocals) from the band says of their cover: “It's like, it's the perfect Motorhead song for me. You know as well as I do how much of a big Ramones fan Lem was. And it sounds to me like his take, Motörhead doing the Ramones...

PENNYWISE RELEASE ‘ACE OF SPADES’ COVER TAKEN FROM THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM 'KILLED BY DEAF - A PUNK TRIBUTE TO MOTӦRHEAD'

Pennywise guitarist Fletcher Dragge comments about their cover of Motörhead's timeless anthem, 'Ace Of Spades': “Getting into punk rock around 1980, basically the only metal band that was allowed to be part of the punk rock scene was Motörhead, as far as I was concerned. If you saw somebody show up in a jean vest with the Motörhead patch on the back it was like, “There’s a metaller, but he can hang with us!”. ‘Ace of Spades’ was the track where you heard that and went, “That’s not metal, that’s punk rock!” Heavy metal and punk rock! WA...

UK PUNK LEGENDS INSTIGATORS RETURN & CONFIRMED TO PLAY REBELLION FESTIVAL AUGUST 8TH AND MORE!

In the latter half of the Eighties you'd have struggled to find a harder working group than INSTIGATORS.
