MAMMOTHOR Releases New LP 'Devotion Lost' & New Video For 'Faith Healer'!

NEW ENGLAND Hard Rock/Metal act Mammothor have released their new LP, DEVOTION LOST, which debuted at #3 on the New England-based Bull Moose charts. The album was recorded at New Alliance Audio in Cambridge, MA (Godsmack, Powerman 5000), mixed and engineered by Kyle Paradis (I Was Awake), and mastered by Jay Frigoletto (Alice in Chains, Shinedown, Tesla, Nonpoint) at MASTERSUITE. DEVOTION is 12 tracks of full-on East Coast Rock fury, becoming the #7 most added album at Metal Radio.

Devotion Lost sees MAMMOTHOR, long a staple in the New England Rock scene who have shared stages with the likes of Living Colour, Saving Abel, Fuel, Powerman 5000, Orgy, Eve 6, Hinder, Ted Nugent and more, vocalist Travis Lowell, Josh Johnson (guitar), Dana Sharpton (guitar), Dusty Mulholland (bass – studio only), and Nick Raby (drums) straying drastically at times from their blues-rock roots and delving into bold, progressive new territory.

Opener "Howling Baying Jackal" recalls classic heavy metal in the vein of Iron Maiden, followed up by "Skin" an edgy alt-metal burner, with a dark, chanting core. The lyrics to "Skin" additionally provided inspiration for the eye-catching album art on Devotion Lost, created by Italian graphic designer Maurizio Piccinelli. The first single "Faith Healer" sees the band settling into a more classic hard-rock style with a tune that’s radio-ready while still maintaining a dark, progressive Metal edge. The back-to-back duo of "Shadows of Oblivion" and "Elusive Engineer" sees Devotion Lost making perhaps the starkest stylistic shift; from screaming vocals and guitar driven heavy metal on "Shadows" to a melodic, moody ballad in the form of "Engineer".

The album is rounded out by "Blood-Soaked Candy Heart", "a twisted love story," according to vocalist Travis Lowell, followed by the band’s re-imagining of their previous track "Tyrannicide", and the crushing, "Pillar of Simeon".

INTERVIEW: Cellar Darling (Switzerland)

INTERVIEW: Cellar Darling (Switzerland)

Cellar Darling is comprised of Anna Murphy, Ivo Henzi, and Merlin Sutter who recently formed following the spilt from previous well-known folk metal band, Eluveitie. The trio have been hard at work since, creating their anticipated debut album 'This Is The Sound' which was released June 30th via Nuclear Blast Records and have impressed fans and press alike with their fresh and unique sound which has been dubbed as "the new wave of folk rock“. This is an exciting and busy time for the band, so I caught up with them to find out about their origins, their new album, touring and what is in store for the band amongst other things..

Can you tell us about the formation of Cellar Darling following leaving your previous band Eluveitie and how the band came to be?
Merlin: What I remember most clearly is how quick it went. As you might know, the whole thing with Eluveitie came very unexpected for us - we were informed of a decision by the remain…

REVIEW: Bobaflex - Eloquent Demons

Hard Rockers Bobaflex from West Virginian are back to wreak havoc with their eighth album ‘Eloquent Demons’ which is the follow to 2015’s ‘Anything That Moves’, this sees not only their first release through Thermal Entertainment but their first actual label release in a while after the band decided to go independent. They are a very hardworking and tireless band, having extensively toured, and even setting records for this, they certainly don’t do anything by half measures.
The opening intro and title track sounds very appropriately evil, with a creepy intro speech to set the scene whilst we wait for the demons to be fully unleashed…
First proper track ‘I Am Nightmare’ immediately sees heavy dark guitars and melodic group singing, which give it a classic feel with a gritty edge and is possesses a hell of a powerful chorus, not to mention a killer solo – this will be hard to forget.
Keeping the momentum going is ‘Long Time Coming’ which is equally as hard-hitting, with groove ridden and…
