UPRISING 9 Announcement: UPRISING hosts the 25th Anniversary party of TotalRock Radio!

  The annual ‘Night Before UPRISING’ returns to the Firebug on Friday 22nd May 2026. The night will be hosted by the DJs of TotalRock with guest DJ slots. For those who are unfamiliar, TotalRock — the station was launched in 2000 by Tommy Vance and a group of rock music visionaries, including Programme Director Tony Wilson and Managing Editor Malcolm Dome. TotalRock pioneered the concept of a dedicated rock radio station in the UK, building an enviable reputation for launching the careers of bands and DJs alike. So… who will be bringing the party to ‘The Night Before…’? Headlining the evening is none other than Corby’s finest, VIKING SKULL, originally formed in 2002 with Raging Speedhorn members Frank Regan, Darren Smith and Gordon Morrison.   Celebrating 10 years, UPRISING returns to Leicester's O2 Academy for a huge milestone event, with returning favourites and heavy hitters making their debut. Kicking off the announcements for Uprising 9 are… UK metallers PITCHSHIFTER are confirmed as headliners for Uprising! This will be the band’s only live performance in 2026 and as always it promises to be unmissable. The band’s career straddles 30 years, 10 albums, tours of over 30 countries, cover features in Metal Hammer, Rock Sound and Kerrang! magazines, John Peel and Radio One Rock Show Sessions, and profile slots at Ozzfest, Reading & Leeds, Damnation, Vans Warped Tour and the Big Day Out.
