Tethra's New Album 'Like Crows For The Earth' Is Out Now In The US

Tethra's New Album “Like Crows for The Earth” Is Out Now In America Via Sliptrick Records

Tethra’s full-length album, “Like Crows for The Earth”, which was recorded and mixed by Matt Stancioiu (Labyrinth) at Elnor Studios and mastered by Greg Chandles (Esoteric) at Priory Studios. reveals how much the band has evolved sonically since their 2013 album, "Drown into the Sea of Life". The album was released in Europe on February 11th via Sliptrick Records, and is now unleashed in the US, as it came out on July 23rd.

Tethra produces elements such as acoustic breaks, striking solos and Doom-influenced melodies are mixed with charismatic vocals courtesy of the versatile frontman Clode Tethra. Blending gloomy Doom Metal, raging Death Metal and melodic early 90s Gothic Metal tinged vocals, Tethra will be the last nail on your cross.

The frontman explains: “In terms of songwriting, the lyrics have become more intimate on “Like Crows for The Earth”, focusing on topics such as loss, solitude and feelings of rejection. The album also deals with social issues, such as mankind’s indiscriminate exploitation of the Earth, metaphorically represented by the crow: if not stopped, this animal poses an undeniable threat to its ecosystem and is bound to destroy all other species.”

Tethra last month (June 8th) played a special 'closed doors' live streamed show on Facebook, with just them in the venue and as well as streaming it live they left the video up for 24 hours to give others a chance to see it and raise awareness to support the metal genre as well as the important issue of small venues closing.

Tethra are passionate about emerging artists and they were on a mission to increase the numbers of people that attend smaller, club sized venues in not just Italy, but on a worldwide scale, stating:

"In recent years, many small and medium-sized clubs dedicated to metal music have closed or changed their genre because of the low attendance at the concerts.

It's a global phenomenon that, if it does not have a clear turnabout, will oblige all industry employees to make drastic decisions."

Post the event the band said:

"Thanks to you for watching our closed doors show, we hope to have you reflected on the bad situation of our favourite music and something can change quickly...before it's too late."

EX-HIM Frontman Ville Valo Reveals New Band & Album

Ex-HIM Frontman Ville Valo has announced his return to music with his new band, Ville Valo & Agents, with their debut single, a cover of Rauli Badding Somerjoki's 'Orpolapsi Kiurun'(‘Orphan Child Of The Skylark’) to drop later this month on the 21st September, with an album to follow in 2019.

Ville has teamed up with Esa Pulliainen, guitarist with veteran Finnish band Agents, to record an album of songs inspired by late Finnish rock’n’roll singer Rauli Badding Somerjoki.

“This story begins three years ago,” says Pulliainen, whose band played with Badding in the 80s. “Upon finding three demo cassettes in my drawer which had been sent to me by Badding back in the day, I knew I had to contact Ville right from the get-go. I was aware he knows his Badding inside out. I'm really happy that we were able to finalize this project. Badding meant for these songs to be recorded and even if it took us 30 years to make that happen, I feel I've kept my promise."
