CAST THE STONE (feat. MISERY INDEX, CATTLE DECAPITATION and SCOUR members) Sign With Agonia Records

US-based death/black metal act CAST THE STONE re-emerge with a new record deal with Agonia Records. CAST THE STONE first began in 2002 as the original project between guitarist Mark Kloeppel of Misery Index, bassist Derek Engemannof Scour and Cattle Decapitation and drummer Jesse Schobel of Legend/ex-Scour, prior to their departure into their current metal-scene mainstays. Rounded out by vocalist Andrew Huskey, the band will release new music in their original line-up in 2018.
Through years of successful touring and record creation within the membership's other very well known projects, an attitude was fostered of "how would we do this now"? CAST THE STONE returns not as some metal supergroup, but as a project of the original and purest intent of its membership. To be blunt, without CAST THE STONE, the vast majority of the Misery Index discography, Cattle Decapitation's seminal "Monolith of Inhumanity" and "The Anthropocene Extinction" albums, and Scour with Philip H. Anselmo, would not exist. Therefore, CAST THE STONEhas re-emerged to claim its rightful place in music history, as well as the future.

Teaming up with Agonia Records, the quartet has fully hit their creative stride with masterpieces of sonic devastation that honor their roots and original intent alongside their prowess of experience. Metal maniacs weaned on the dark ferocity of Norwegian black metal, the punishingly surreal assault of Edge of Sanity, or the demonstrative brutality of death metal, will find something evocative and provoking within CAST THE STONE. These savage elements collide with combustible energy against the near psychedelic, progressive, and technical excursions, all intermingled with atmospheric groove. Combined, it’s a testament to an enduring spirit that’s driven the band to take their own organic influences, merge them together, incorporate disparate elements, and forge their own sound.

CAST THE STONE commented: "With Agonia Records at the helm, and the sheer pedigree of our membership in CAST THE STONE (MISERY INDEX, SCOUR, CATTLE DECAPITATION), we promise a stellar conjuring of darkness, and a steadfast willingness to churn limitless blackened hymns into the widening gyre".

Upcoming dates:
Mark Kloeppel and Derek Engemann will be appearing at the North American Music Merchants (NAMM) show this weekend (27th of January) in Anaheim, California at the Anaheim Convention Center to demonstrate their signature guitar pedals at the Amptweaker booth #4034, and will be giving a live performance at the Peavey Electronics Stage at booth 201 A-B on Saturday 1/27 at 3:30pm.

Band-Maid MCM Comic Con Live Review/Feature - Fringe Festival 29/5/16

J-Rockers Band-Maid make first European performance at huge MCM Comic Con

Band-Maid, one of Japan’s up-and-coming all-girl rock acts, made their live debut to UK/Europe at MCM London Comic Con, which took place from 27-29th May 2016 at ExCel London, hosting the UK's biggest Modern Pop Culture Event.

The Tokyo quintet who formed in 2013, consisting of Miku (guitar/vocals), Saiki (vocals), Kanami (guitar), Akane (drums) and bassist Misa – have been building quite a reputation and fan-base all over with their blend of cute yet deadly rock music and stand out imagery (appropriately dressing as maids) whilst they unleash and deliver their seriously skilled and striking sounds. The concept of the maid outfit aesthetic stems from founder Miku’s experiences in the maid cafes of Akihabara – the Tokyo district known for otaku (‘geek’) culture and passion for rock music.

Through their music videos they have been reaping success and gaining well deserved attention, especially for the videos f…

REVIEW: Spreading The Disease - Insurrection

Modern metal quartet Spreading The Disease from Kent, UK formed in 2014 and then earlier this year in September 2017 they finally unleased their debut album ‘Insurrection’ which shows they are ready to infect metalheads and critics alike with their no-nonsense sounds…
Opening song ‘Find My Path’ starts with a melodic and resonant intro before fierce vocals come in with hard-hitting heavy guitars, it then goes on to feature an effective stripped back section towards the end which gives it extra depth. This is a powerful and strong start to the album.
‘Words Unspoken’ is a thumping tune with great rhythms and is very headbang worthy and incredibly catchy, keeping up the momentum is self-named track ‘Spreading The Disease’ which immediately pulls you in with catchy melodies and is all consuming with mighty riffs and a massive aggressive sound.
Latest single ‘Greed’ is frantic and driven and features some of the best guitarwork so far and again is very belligerent and is bound to get the mos…
