EDIT THE TIDE are on the rise and are loaded with their stunning new EP, 'The Space Between Seconds', out Friday 21st November. We exclusively checked in with the potent alt-metallers and asked the band to give us an exclusively track by track breakdown of the EP:

ECHOES


"The knowledge that we are such insignificant beings in such a vast universe poses the question “what is our purpose on Earth?”. Are we echoes of the past, will we ever truly know what’s out there or is there a meaning to the mixed-up chain of events we call life?"

THE COST OF STANDING STILL

"Corruption and austerity are now part of our daily lives whether we like it or not. Why are we wasting time fighting against each other when we should be standing together as one. It’s time for us to stop letting cynicism cloud our judgement and turn our focus to the real villains."

DANCING WITH SHADOWS

"There’s a conflict within, the voices in our heads fighting to control our next moves. When we can no longer fight, the voices take advantage, forcing us towards temptation and into despair. Sometimes you have to hit the bottom before you can find a way out and make a change."

ANTITHESIS


"This track is about using our own vices to cope through difficult times. There is a duality of craving escape and yearning for control within some peoples lives. Upon reflection we can portray addiction as both a seductive force and a personal adversary once we’ve come out the other side of what can be an overwhelming journey of healing in the face of internal opposition."

TIME AND ERROR


"From birth to death, the path is not linear and relies heavily on the choices we make whether they be right or wrong. No matter how hard it gets, we have to believe that things get better. Time goes on once we’re gone, make the most of the time that we have."
