EXCLUSIVE FEATURE: Xenith's 5 Songs That Influenced Them

 


Brit heavyweights XENITH are close to unleashing their debut album, 'To No Avail', on Friday 28th August, which showcases their deadly blend of melodic death metal and thrash. Ahead of the album release, they have dropped new single/video 'Incite The Tragedy'. See the video for the track below.





We exclusively asked the band to give us the top five tracks that have greatly influenced their sound and debut offering:



Opeth - The Moor


"The influence of Opeth on Xenith can’t go overstated. They really showed me that you can incorporate as many influences as you want into a song and still make it cohesive. The Moor in particular really inspired us to open our album with a folky acoustic passage."




Panopticon - A Superior Lament



"Similar to Opeth, Panopticon is another band that really helped me think less about staying within confined genres. A Superior Lament opens with such a ballsy riff but its also so beautifully melancholic, this was key inspiration for our song “The Weight to Pretend”, really wanting to capture that same depressive yet “rock n roll” vibe."




White Ward - Phoenix



"White Ward have some of the coolest compositions in modern black metal. They really showed me that you can create atmospheric and sombre music whilst still having absolutely venomous riffs. Pheonix’s post-punk break towards the end of the track is also one of my favourite moments, it’s so fun but doesn’t detract from the emotional vibe of the song."



Wytch Hazel - He Is The Fight



"I’ve always loved massive guitar harmonies, but Wytch Hazel are definitely the band that have inspired me the most. This track (and whole album) is very creative melodically; every guitar line is an absolute earworm and is incredibly triumphant and uplifting without ever feeling overbearing."


At The Gates - Forever Blind



"At The Gates are truly the masters of melodic riffing. Similar to a lot of the songs on this list, Forever Blind really captures a sadness and authenticity whilst still delivering on the riffs. That duality between musicianship and raw emotion is incredibly important to us and a lot of that is because of At The Gates."

Back On Earth Release NEW EP & Music Video

Within Temptation announce support acts for the 'Bleed Out Tour 2024'

  WITHIN TEMPTATION are thrilled to unveil the lineup of support acts accompanying them on their 'Bleed Out 2024 Tour', which kicks off in October 2024. Joining the multi-million selling rock band on this tour will be both Within Temptation’s recent collaborative artists and longtime friends: singer Tarja Turunen*, German metalcore band Annisokay, Ukrainian band Blind8 and Green Lizardˆ from The Netherlands.
