EPICA BEHIND THE MUSIC OF 'THE SOLACE SYSTEM'PART #1


Recently, EPICA announced their long-awaited EP, The Solace System. This record will include six brand-new numbers, which were written and recorded during the process of their latest album The Holographic Principle, which came out in late 2016 and charted worldwide. The EP release is due for September 1st, 2017 via NuclearBlast.

To give you all an understanding of the content and the concept of this EP, EPICA will release some "behind the music" videos! Today, they unveil part 1 of the trailer series, which you can see here:https://youtu.be/LmQHfDT8dsY

The Solace System was recorded, mixed & mastered by team Joost van den Broek and Jacob Hansen. It was produced by anime-master Davide Cilloni. The stunning artwork is once again by the hand of Stefan Heilemann.

Simone Simons (vocalist) comments on the EP:
"During the early writing process of 'The Holographic Principle' we found out that we were blessed with a huge amount of songs. The songs that didn't fit on our album are now available for you on this special EP! I hope you guys will enjoy these songs as much as we do!"

REVIEW: Spreading The Disease - Insurrection

Modern metal quartet Spreading The Disease from Kent, UK formed in 2014 and then earlier this year in September 2017 they finally unleased their debut album ‘Insurrection’ which shows they are ready to infect metalheads and critics alike with their no-nonsense sounds…
Opening song ‘Find My Path’ starts with a melodic and resonant intro before fierce vocals come in with hard-hitting heavy guitars, it then goes on to feature an effective stripped back section towards the end which gives it extra depth. This is a powerful and strong start to the album.

J-Rockers Band-Maid make first European performance at huge MCM Comic Con

Band-Maid, one of Japan’s up-and-coming all-girl rock acts, made their live debut to UK/Europe at MCM London Comic Con, which took place from 27-29th May 2016 at ExCel London, hosting the UK's biggest Modern Pop Culture Event.


The Tokyo quintet who formed in 2013, consisting of Miku (guitar/vocals), Saiki (vocals), Kanami (guitar), Akane (drums) and bassist Misa – have been building quite a reputation and fan-base all over with their blend of cute yet deadly rock music and stand out imagery (appropriately dressing as maids) whilst they unleash and deliver their seriously skilled and striking sounds. The concept of the maid outfit aesthetic stems from founder Miku’s experiences in the maid cafes of Akihabara – the Tokyo district known for otaku (‘geek’) culture and passion for rock music.
