THE DEV have released their hard-edged "Shameless Life": a reflective mirror that tells a story by a fusing that draws back the curtain to reveal itself through audio and visual presence. With edgy, intense guitar riffs, and a bass and drum line that gets the legs pumping, The Dev have created a dramatic melody, inspiring a passion and drive that produces a flare of theatrical and elaborate alternative hard rock. The Dev has taken "Shameless Life" to front and center; standing out unique to its own with eagerness to own the stage.
Barrett- “The music and arrangement is something that I love about this song. It has your heavy riffs you can thrash your head to, but with the simplicity of a pop style vocal performance and choruses along with storytelling lyrics that show the alternative side of the industry.”
Ryan - “To me, this song presents two important things in someone’s life: passion & purpose. Everyone dreams and searches for each (passion/purpose) and those lucky enough to find them sometimes don’t realize how hard you have to fight for them. But as presented in this song: if you believe, work hard, and continue to pursue your dreams, you can achieve them.”
John - “The song makes me feel alive, it makes me feel like I’m doing the one thing I’m supposed to be doing in this crazy world. All the pain and abandonment issues I’ve suffered throughout my whole life; from my father never wanting anything to do with me, all the way to people in general not wanting anything to do with me. It’s about harnessing that energy, that feeling and letting it all loose in a riff, in a gesture, in a movement, and in a song.”
Nikollaj- “When writing this song, I needed it to be somewhat poppy and catchy because the lyrics are raw. It truly is a shameless life being in the music industry, but being on stage is something that I and the band yearn for. And if we’re being honest, it’s all that we want. To wake up and tour, write, play, sleep, and repeat.”
Shaking the hard rock music scene with their original sound and expressive oddity, THE DEV presents its 3rd massive single, “Shameless Life”.
Members of THE DEV use their self-expression and collaborative talents to create a new brand of hard rock - a kind that doesn’t conform to the norm, adding a bit of edge to the well-known styles of rock n’ roll. A compelling combination of charisma and fury makes THE DEV a force to be reckoned with.
This talented group of musicians left a notable impression on the media after the release of their debut single, “Broken Lies” was named single of the week by AltPress Magazine. Their second single, “Queen of The Damned” similarly made an impressive entrance with the release of its music video, also highlighted in AltPress Magazine.
Both singles revealed a significant rise in numbers for THE DEV, with over 120k Spotify streams and music video views on YouTube. Along with the influx of attention from the media, the band has been featured in various music blogs, playlists, magazines, radio, and more.
Although 2020 came with many uncertainties for the live entertainment industry, THE DEV was able to take their music career to the next level. Their emerging success earned them a signed management contract with MVK Music Group and the title of Best Rock Act 2020 from Orlando Weekly magazine. Additionally, the band secured endorsement deals with respected companies including WB Gear, SJC Drums, SIT Strings, Hayward Drums, Saluda Cymbals, In-Tune Guitar Pics, Collision Drum Sticks, Maverick Apparel Co, Timber Creek Distillery, and RAZE Energy drinks.
The band hopes to find more success as the live music and touring industry slowly returns in the upcoming months. Until then, THE DEV continues to work toward building their online presence and cannot wait to release more music and art for the DEVoted fans.
