The annual ‘Night Before Uprising’ returns to the city's favourite grassroots venue, FIREBUG, on Friday 23rd May. This year's ‘Night Before Uprising’ will be a showcase of the incredible, talented roster of Church Road Records.

GIANT WALKER
Headlining the evening are GIANT WALKER, a Progressive Rock band from Newcastle. Their music encapsulates the ever changing emotions of loneliness and provide relief in their soothing and uplifting melancholic melodies. If you are a fan of Karnivool, Deftones and Radiohead then do not miss Giant Walker.

Returning to Uprising after their awe-inspiring set on the main stage at Uprising 7, we are thrilled to welcome Forlorn to the ‘The Night Before Uprising’. Fresh and armed with their debut album ‘Aether’, expect a sonically pleasing performance, full of intensity and a bunch of ear worms that will be stuck with you for the foreseeable future! For fans of Gojira, Cult Of Luna and Architects.

VNDER A CRVMBLING MOON
A supergroup and local heroes, VNDER A CRVMBLING MOON features former members of Garganjua, Conjurer and Codex Alimantarius. This should inform you of the insane level of musicianship you will observe on the evening. The band's unique take on Post-Metal blends the fierceness of Black Metal with the riffs and depth of Doom Metal. For fans of BOSSK, DVNE and CULT OF LUNA.

In 2026, Uprising will be celebrating their ten year anniversary. There are already a bunch of bands locked in for the event. For the first time ever, Uprising will be planning to announce part of next year's bill live on stage, minutes before EARTHTONE9 play their set.
A quote from Simon, regarding plans for next year:
“Thank you all so much for the support you give to Matt, the team and I, every year we can't wait to welcome you all back to Uprising. We are always learning and always growing, this year will be a slightly different event to previous years as we are focusing on one stage only, however next year we are breaking out the big guns and will HOPEFULLY have a whole heap of bands to shout about on stage at this year's Uprising. Contract depending!!”
Uprising 8 will feature a single stage with no clashes and will showcase nine performances by bands making their Uprising debut. The event will be held at the O2 Academy in Leicester on Saturday, 24th May.
Performing across the weekend at Uprising will be EARTHTONE9, ESOTERICA, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE, FORLORN, DEFENCES, OBEYER, GIANT WALKER, LOWEN, HIDDEN MOTHERS, TAYNE, THE GREY, VNDER A CRVMBLING MOON, UNDERDARK, VOIDWALKER, SULVAIN plus much more to be announced.
