tealdeer and Surya to perform on the New Blood Stage alongside a line-up featuring Trivium, Machine Head, and Gojira
This August, two rising forces in the UK metal underground – tealdeer and Surya – will take to the New Blood Stage at Bloodstock Open Air 2025, joining a stacked line-up headlined by Trivium, Machine Head, and Gojira. Following victorious runs in the Metal 2 The Masses initiative, both bands are ready to show the metal world why they’re ones to watch.
tealdeer - Friday, 12:00 PM - New Blood Stage
Hailing from the Midlands, tealdeer are bringing an eclectic, high-concept dose of chaos to Bloodstock. Their sound is an unpredictable blend of alternative metal, influenced by everything from System of a Down and Dance Gavin Dance to black-and-white horror films and sixteenth-century carnival music. It’s theatrical, intense, and utterly captivating.
Drummer Rob Green captured the band’s shock on the night of their M2TM victory:
“If you’d have told me, earlier this year, that we’d be playing Bloodstock. I would have slapped you in the face.”
The band is eager to bring the madness to Catton Park:
“I’m sat here, typing this up, trying to find the words for playing Bloodstock but I can’t find the words! We couldn’t be more excited and honoured and we’ll be having the time of our lives watching and playing with all of the bands on the New Blood stage.

Surya - Sunday, 3:00 PM - New Blood Stage
Based in Leeds, Surya are a force of crushing heaviness and technical precision. Blending Tech Metal, Deathcore, and ambient soundscapes, their music strikes a balance between raw aggression and soaring atmosphere. Expect relentless vocals, thunderous grooves, and a live energy that’s nothing short of explosive.
The band’s resume includes performances alongside Heart Of A Coward, Sikth, Unprocessed, Ingested, and more — but Bloodstock marks a major new chapter.
“We are beyond proud to have won our Metal 2 The Masses competition and to be bringing our heavy sound to the New Blood Stage at Bloodstock 2025. This moment is the result of years of relentless passion, loud rehearsals and the unwavering support of our fans. Bloodstock 2025 runs from August 7–10 at Catton Park, Derbyshire, and promises to be one of the UK’s heaviest weekends of the year. With legends like Trivium, Machine Head, and Gojira headlining the main stage, and tealdeer and Surya bringing the fire to the New Blood Stage, this year’s fest is not to be missed.
