EXCLUSIVE FEATURE: Premier Jester 5 Songs That Influenced Them
There is no stopping electro-metalcore crew PREMIER JESTER who continue their rapid ascent and are primed to unleash their irresistibly charged debut album, 'Turn You On', due out Friday 24th April. The energetic five-piece have also just dropped their belting new track, ‘Pac’d Out’. Watch the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqkzWxtMvXU or see below:
With the band on the rise, we exclusively asked the dynamic metalcorers for the songs that have greatly influenced their sound:
Limp Bizkit – Rollin
"I grew up on Limp Bizkit and it didn’t matter what mood you were in, they lifted you up and got you moving. They were aggressive without being too serious and were (for me) one of the first main cross-genre bands who really pushed musical boundaries, all whilst having a lot of fun! I feel this is a BIG influence on the style PJ adopts" – Jimmy Martin (Harsh vocals)
Scooter - Posse
"Scooter is one of my biggest influences. I’m a huge fan of techno and hardcore music. My brother introduced me to it in the early 2000s when ’24 Carat Gold’ came out in 2002. I’ve been listening to that album ever since" - Adam Berces (Bass)
Blink 182 - First Date
"Another big influence on me is Blink-182. I’m a huge fan of punk rock; it’s amazing how even with just four chords, you can create a catchy chorus and a great song. I really appreciate that they have fun making music, and that’s what’s most important to us too. Just have fun and enjoy what you are doing!" - Adam Berces (Bass)
Suicide Silence – Unanswered
"Unanswered" is essentially the blueprint for modern deathcore. It’s hard to find a band in the genre that hasn't utilised those signature chromatic chugs across the first three frets. We love that and celebrate it a lot on this album. It's the moment we can lock in as a band knowing the crowd will always throw down.
That specific rhythmic pattern has become a foundational element because of how effectively it bridges the gap between a driving verse and a massive, earth-shaking slam. We have a fair bit of it across the album. You can never not pull the stank face when you hear that signature chug" - Jonah Pritchard (Guitar)
Slipknot – People = Shit
"Slipknot redefined what "heavy" could mean by masterfully blending raw aggression with industrial textures. While they weren't the first to use electronics in metal, they were arguably the most successful at bringing it to mainstream metal. In "People = Shit," Sid Wilson’s work on the decks creates tension, mimicking the "drop" culture of electronic music. It hits differently and we enjoy incorporating that into our music. We love to riff and rave and our album has a lot of it! You'll be waving glow sticks and two stepping all at once" - Jonah Pritchard (Guitar)
Premier Jester's debut album 'Turn You On' is released Friday 24th April 2026.
