Goya To Release Progressive Debut EP December 20th

Goya lets the music do the talking with release of progressive debut EP this December

"Amongst a constant tsunami of music submissions, from time to time one or two really do make you sit up and listen intently to every note, beat, sound. Goya is one such band that did for us exactly that. Their talent and musicianship is unquestionable, all making for a listening experience of real joy." - Real Rock Show

Goya is a new post-rock group from Stoke on Trent who have been impressing audiences with their own take on progressive music, and choosing to let the guitars, bass, and drums do the talking with their "must listen to" instrumental debut EP. Titled 'Kathmandu', the ep is released 8th December 2017.

Produced, mixed and mastered by Dan Rowley at Tremolo Recording Studios: 'Kathmandu' is a must for music fans seeking something different in a time where cookie cutters run wild. Featuring tinges of classic Pink Floyd, Rush, and Led Zeppelin, the four tracks 'Kathmandu' offer are fresh and contemporary. It's a sonic driven utopia that delivers listeners a carefully crafted, organic musical landscape that's enriching and rewarding.

With sonically strong melodies, hooks, and consummate musicianship, Goya lock the music tightly whilst making 'Kathmandu' feel incredibly free flowing.

Guitarist Jase Kester says, "For us the ep is the initial musical statement from Goya. We recorded everything old school live in the studio, so what you hear is the sound of musicians interacting with one another in the same room. We've tried to take all the things we love about rock - the riffs, rhythms and sounds, the building blocks and devices - strip away some things that we feel have become clichés of the genre, in an attempt to create Absolute Music.

By Absolute Music we're referring to the term coined in the 18th century. Basically this bunch of philosophers felt that music was the ONLY art form that could exist without representing something, or having a meaning attached to it. To put it in their words that "instrumental music transcends other arts and languages to become the discourse of a higher realm."

This isn't us being pretentious... this is Goya existing right now and it's where we have to be."

Band-Maid MCM Comic Con Live Review/Feature - Fringe Festival 29/5/16

J-Rockers Band-Maid make first European performance at huge MCM Comic Con

Band-Maid, one of Japan’s up-and-coming all-girl rock acts, made their live debut to UK/Europe at MCM London Comic Con, which took place from 27-29th May 2016 at ExCel London, hosting the UK's biggest Modern Pop Culture Event.

The Tokyo quintet who formed in 2013, consisting of Miku (guitar/vocals), Saiki (vocals), Kanami (guitar), Akane (drums) and bassist Misa – have been building quite a reputation and fan-base all over with their blend of cute yet deadly rock music and stand out imagery (appropriately dressing as maids) whilst they unleash and deliver their seriously skilled and striking sounds. The concept of the maid outfit aesthetic stems from founder Miku’s experiences in the maid cafes of Akihabara – the Tokyo district known for otaku (‘geek’) culture and passion for rock music.

Through their music videos they have been reaping success and gaining well deserved attention, especially for the videos f…

REVIEW: Spreading The Disease - Insurrection

Modern metal quartet Spreading The Disease from Kent, UK formed in 2014 and then earlier this year in September 2017 they finally unleased their debut album ‘Insurrection’ which shows they are ready to infect metalheads and critics alike with their no-nonsense sounds…
Opening song ‘Find My Path’ starts with a melodic and resonant intro before fierce vocals come in with hard-hitting heavy guitars, it then goes on to feature an effective stripped back section towards the end which gives it extra depth. This is a powerful and strong start to the album.
‘Words Unspoken’ is a thumping tune with great rhythms and is very headbang worthy and incredibly catchy, keeping up the momentum is self-named track ‘Spreading The Disease’ which immediately pulls you in with catchy melodies and is all consuming with mighty riffs and a massive aggressive sound.
Latest single ‘Greed’ is frantic and driven and features some of the best guitarwork so far and again is very belligerent and is bound to get the mos…
