The newly-launched, US-based, avant-garde metal quartet SHADOWS, formed by veteran musicians from reputable death metal bands, have began recording on their yet-untitled debut album at Rhawn Street Studios in Philadelphia, PA. The album is scheduled for a tentative release in 2021 on Agonia Records.
The album is being produced by the band and recorded and engineered by Lance Walter (drums, bass & lead guitar). Guitarist Henny Piotrowski (ex-Goreaphobia) had this to say about the ongoing recordings: "Myself and the rest of the band are always thinking outside the box of heavy dark music. And I believe the collection of songs for our full length represents taking things to another level. The recording has been coming along fantastic and we can’t wait to release this music that we are all so proud of".

SHADOWS is a new band from Immolation's guitarist and Goreaphobia's founding member Alex Bouks, who brought other former Goreaphobia members to the table, including Henny Piotrowski (guitars) and Jake G (vocals). Alongside multi-instrumentalist Lance Walter, the group has signed a record deal with Agonia Records, with plans to release their debut material in 2021.

More photos from the studio are available at this location.

Alex Bouks has been involved in the extreme underground music scene since the late 80’s. His technical style of aggressive, melodic guitar work has resulted in worldwide recognition (being a member of such acclaimed acts as Immolation, Incantation, Master, Ruinous or Funebrarum). In SHADOWS, Alex has returned to his musical roots, with classic influences (feat. Pink Floyd, Celtic Frost, Sisters of Mercy, Black Sabbath, Mercyful Fate or Voivod) and musicians he always felt chemistry with, including Henry Piotrkowski and Jake G of the split-up Philadelphia-based band Goreaphobia, and Lance Walter of another Philadelphia unit, Dominance.

A statement from Alex Bouks explains more: "Shadows is a personal project that has lasted with myself and Henny Piotrowski for over thirty years. He is one of the first people I started playing music with and there has always been a magical chemistry that had never gone away. This year the universe spoke and said the truth shall be unveiled."

Line-up:
Alex Bouks - Lead guitar
Henny Piotrowski - guitar
Jake G - vocals
Lance Walter - drums, bass, lead guitar

The Crobar - Famous London Rock Bar Launches Crowdfunder

In 2001 The Crobar opened in Soho because the owner saw a need for a dedicated Rock bar for the thousands of Rock and Heavy Metal fans that live in London. Over the years, the Crobar has paid host to numerous rock legends including Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), Kerry King (Slayer) and Dave Mustaine (Megadeth), to name but a few, as well as international superstars such as Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, P!nk and Kiefer Sutherland. Sadly, a few weeks ago The Crobar announced that due to being unable to trade for 6 months, and a host of other problems caused by the Covid pandemic, they would no longer be able to operate from their current premises. “Back in June, when I realised there was no way we would survive, I was heartbroken.” Says owner Richard. “A
