EXCLUSIVE FEATURE: Veins - 'A New Forever' Album Track By Track

 

We exclusively caught up with Brit alternative rock trio VEINS who are poised to drop their long-awaited debut album, 'A New Forever', due Friday 5th June. The band have given us this track by track breakdown of the album:

“Criminal is about how life can shift in an instant. Perceptions change with the press of a button. Good becomes evil, and public opinion rules, regardless of the facts. In a world where clickbait is king, reality becomes distorted and the truth is ignored".

"Reign Down is about defying the hand you’ve been dealt. Inspired by frontman Stevie Rees’ sister’s battle with neurofibromatosis type 2, a genetic disease causing tumors on the brain and spine, the song explores survival, resilience, and the relentless urge to embrace life fully, cherishing every fleeting moment."

"I Keep Falling is inspired by the short film Nuit Blanche by Arev Manoukian. It captures a fleeting, magical moment between two strangers, revealing an intense yet brief connection in a hyper-real fantasy. The film’s beauty and intimacy make it unforgettable. A recommended watch!"

"Ambi is about optimism and the power of unity. Feeling that together, we can conquer anything and take on the world. Love triumphs over all obstacles. Written from the perspective of a super hero, it celebrates the strength, courage, and hope found in fighting side by side to save everything."

"Pulling Teeth is about surrendering yourself completely to someone and being sold a dream that isn’t what it seemed. Navigating a new life is both exciting and full of apprehension. Eventually, it becomes impossible to live without and you continue living it even with your eyes closed."

"Suddenly Revived is about living through dark times, desperately holding on to what matters most. It’s about clinging to the bright moments amidst chaos, trying to preserve hope when everything feels uncertain. Even in the struggle, there’s a quiet faith that, eventually, it will all be okay."

"Sunlight is about watching someone you love battle depression, and the helplessness that comes with it. You want to fix it, to carry their pain, but you can’t. So you smile, pretend you’re strong, while breaking inside. It’s a story of quiet suffering, sadness, love, and confusion."

"Everlasting Game comes from a very dark time, shaped by an extremely toxic relationship filled with constant manipulation and emotional games. It captures the exhaustion, anger, and confusion that builds over time. It’s the “fuck you” you want to scream but swallow, the breaking point where silence finally turns into strength."

"Atoll K is an apology letter. In a destructive relationship where you’re both hurting each other, but you still want to save what’s left, someone has to say sorry first. Even when you’ve been wounded, you reach out, hoping the effort is returned whilst also trying to quietly protect yourself."

"Champions Fall explores the end of Stevie’s marriage. You keep believing everything would be fine “if the other person would just…”. The highs were beautiful, but the lows were devastating. Eventually you ask, is it worth it? When all that remains is destruction, you realize nothing will ever change.”
